Thanks for posting! I was just listening to his work with Teena Marie. Good stuff!

always been a huge fan of Rick James. i was born in Buffalo as well.

he went to school with my father. i got Rick's book and got to see some of Rick's old stomping grounds in buffalo.

Rick was something else. there was a time when he was bigger than MJ and Prince put together. He had that kind of vibe and aura.

He was very creative and he had a strong Hybird of musical hybrid going on.

He is very underrated and he hasn't gotten his full due at all.

Rick spoke his mind and did his thing. created acts and set his own thing.

the original Stone City band was off the Hook.

"fool on the Street" with that cold flute groove and the SatanaEsque run near the end is off the Hook.

i got all of his albums and the stone city band stuff,Val Young, Mary Jane Girls, and other projects he did.

This is a new documentary. It's on the cable channel Showtime, but they have uploaded it on Youtube to watch for free for a limited time. I don't know how long it will be up, so if anyone is interested, watch it soon as possible.
