My picks

Someone In The Dark - Most likely my favorite ever vocal performance of any song ever. It also manages to create an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility. The song is likely intended to be your best friend and in my book it succeeds.
Instrumentally it also sounds very rich, very clear. I would love to hear the song without vocals too one day.

Shake Your Body Down To The Ground - This one is for me the birth of the MJ the world came to love. Falsetto singing, vocal tics, great groove with a fantastic intro and an even greater outro.

Billie Jean - Talking about iconic intros… bloody hell! What a groove! One of the most famous songs in the history of recorded music.

Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough - Michael at his most classiest with a beautifully layered composition that turns disco music into art.

5 songs would have been so easy, but 4 😩

okay, in order of single release..

1. ‘billie jean’ - signature song
2. ‘beat it’ - the only rock song I like. the message is important and timeless
3. ‘wanna be startin’ somethin’ - my absolute favourite of all time 💜💜
4. ‘human nature’ - this is my gentle peace ☮️ the only ballad I really like. a change of pace from the rest of my choices. it was between this and ‘thriller’😩, which I might’ve chosen if it wasn’t for the vincent price speech..

this was stressful but I enjoyed it 💜😊

I chose 4 songs because I couldn’t settle on a 5th 😄

I had beat it, thriller, one day in your life, who’s loving you, music and me, be not always, wanna be startin something fighting it out but could not decide!

The ones he never managed to deliver in concert pretty much,either by lip-synching his way through them or never including the tracks in his setlists at all,for all he apparently cared or was ever able to do as a live act,I suppose..quite ironic when I think about it in retrospect,anyway..
