Thanking Someone's Post

This is such a simple question, I'm embarrassed to ask it..
But how do you thank someone's post? I see the "Thanks" button but if I click it does my user name get added onto the bottom of the post automatically? All I see is the black triangle move over to the left. **Sigh**

I think you had to be upgraded to full member for it to work.
