The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Also, why didnt the estate respond to the seminar leaks? they lost the ability to hype it up cause every fan knows it now

They're aware of it, they're aware that it wasn't Brad Sundberg's fault so they let him continue with the seminars.

In all honesty there's not much reason for them to care about the leaks, all the songs that leaked are songs that have no use to them and they have no interest in releasing, except for Chicago 1945 and maybe the demo of SPYHO (it would be a perfect fit for a Bad re-issue imo).

Yeah, they've apparently already specified to him what they don't want him to play so it's not like they are especially worried about the stuff he has getting out there (obviously it probably bothers them but they can deal with it, we will all buy/stream it if they ever release it anyway, lol).

About this case I keep thinking... why?
Of course I wanted the estate to be more active and release new content, but I would never steal someone's laptop to get MJ content!

I still try to figure out how we got to this point.
As someone who was on his server, looking up the archives brings up the fact that not even the server he was on knew he was gonna steal the laptop.

I remember reading somewhere that Thom Russo mentioned having no intention of releasing “Ghost Of Another Lover” during KINGVENTION 2016, can anyone verify/debunk this?

Hope thats not true, also that song is one of the most underrated lq leaks we've gotten

Now that we’re on the topic of that song, Michael did complete it, right? As far as I know, the version that Thom played during KINGVENTION 2016 (and the one which leaked) was just a rough vocal guide.

What's funny is that there are over 7 versions of the song lol. There was a pic in the court filings of the Jeffre Philips lawsuit containing 2 CDs and they were named "Mix 7 with Intro" and "Mix 4 No Intro", so it suggests that there are at least 7 mixes of the song.

Btw, I wonder if the leaked intro comes from the 2009 mix?

The intro reminds me of the intro of Can’t Let Her Get Away.

Goat really deserves a high quality release. The melody, the music it is all finished. The backgound vocals seem finished and apart from the verses I think most other lyrics seem pretty much done as well. This song IS the goat!

I’ve always wondered something, for how long were those notes stuck on Michael’s wall? Because that could give us a clue about the state of completion for many of these songs. Were they stamped on his wall for a few years already by the time of his death? He might’ve made significant progress in many of these during that time frame, or at very least vocally completed them. Were they stamped on his wall for a few weeks or days by the time of his death? Well, it’s likely that he never got to work on them much, if at all.

Probably no more than weeks when those are songs he wanted to work on once he got to London, and he was 2 weeks away from going there.
