The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

This new info is great, credit for Bill for sharing with fans

The idea that there is a more polished version of, Price Of Fame, Al Capone and Don't Be Messin' Round is absolutely tantalising

I love when we find out new information after all this time, like Mike kept working on Al Capone even after Smooth Criminal was written

I thought one of those also had Roger Troutman... Maybe it was Al Capone? It was said Troutman worked on Tomboy and I think Al Capone. I wonder if that 11/28/85 session had Troutman perform on both songs.

Tomboy must have been held back for BAD25. There was a rough mix and vocals confirmed.
I think they saved some of the material from bad 25 for studio albums (like LY and DYKWYCA). I’d bet you at least MoB, tomboy and crack kills were in the running for xscape as they are confirmed to have full vocals.

… soooooooo he’s not gonna be making an appearance at any ITSWMJ event, I’m guessing?
Doesn’t need to, the more I hear about Brad the less I like him. No integrity. BB for the win! Someone who is knowledgeable about unreleased material told me “Brad doesn’t know shit about what he has.” Or something to that effect of it’s been awhile. It’s a shame John Barnes passed away, I would’ve loved for him to go into a studio, get access to the vault material he worked on and talk at length about each song, version, stories etc. if it were filmed it would’ve been amazing.

20 days of work on Speed Demon, must have been some kind of trial & error, I assume

So AC may have a more finished version.
Someone posted it here before but, Damien Shields said in an article that Al Capone has a unreleased version with the Roger Troutman contribution and samples James Brown in the track, creating a duet of sorts between MJ and James Brown.

This is the stuff I'm incredibly interested in hearing apart from unheard songs. Hearing the development and different versions of tracks is so cool.
Agreed. It’s fascinating.

One project I always thought would be quick and easy (and I’m sure I’ve mentioned it in the past) is a box set similar to the Beatles’ Anthology, where it’s comprised entirely of early/demo/alternate versions of released songs, paired with MJ’s unfinished unreleased music. I figure, it’s a better way of putting it out there than on the eighteenth reissue of Bad.

Yes include demo versions of songs, songs like just remember, dark lady, instrumentals like bang your head, DIE, alternate takes like the give in to me one. So much potential in a release like that.

From OTW to Post-Invincible, alt takes, demoes, and sketches of songs MJ composed, recorded, and developed.

I literally had the opportunity to copy files from Brad's laptop when i saw him in feburary, but decided not to do it out of respect.

my lawyers have advised me not to continue this post.

I mean what’s the point if 99% of his material is already leaked. Michael Prince is the man for unreleased material now, he’s got pretty much everything 2000-2009

"I didn't commit a crime out of respect"

Yep, would love an anthology type release for MJ. Would be an ideal release for me.
