The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Hollywood 17.2 BB.CD would be nice if we knew what these versions meant
If I’m not mistaken:

- The numbers stand for the respective version and mix revision of a given song, meaning this is the 17th version and second revision of “Hollywood Tonight.”
- BB and MP stand for Brad Buxer and Michael Prince.
- CD means this version was either taken from a CD, or was meant to be pressed to a CD for MJ to listen to.

All of the Buxer/Prince tracks have similar naming conventions. Michael Prince talks about it a bit on the MJ Cast when he’s going through the session files for “One More Chance.”

@GYWOOM Is "Hollywood 17.2 BB.CD" the version of "Hollywood Tonight" with David Williams's guitar part or is it an earlier, but more advanced version of the one that leaked? Or perhaps an even earlier version that predates the leak?

Copies of the multitrack tapes were sold to a select group of people before the tapes themselves were made available for sale. The snippets above are fake.
Yeah these:

Are they just instrumentals? Always been curious about these two.

Oh thats pretty cool. I understood the BB but not the 17.2. I'd be interested to hear this mix.

Wyclef? Funny. That's 2 Fugee style demos for Mike then
Didn't you see the DAT tapes from the Hit Factory that went on sale a couple of months ago? They're all Wyclef's demo recordings. I've got six of them so far. I'm still waiting for another two.
What about "Rich Girl"? Does it have vocals? Brad Buxer mentioned that the song was far along. Could mean anything but I took that it meant the song was close to being in a releasable state.
Yes, there are vocals. But don't get too excited.

Out of all these songs and ideas, this is my favourite. You can hear the magic of Bruce Swedien and Brian Vibberts all over it. As you might guess...
Thanks for the info, would love to hear this eventually--the HIStory stuff is just so interesting to me and it seems super mysterious. Also, were you the one people were saying had Ghost of Another Lover in good quality? Do you know if this CD has anything reworked from 2009?

Pretty sure that was said during his trolling phase, I really don't think any collectors have GOAL

This image reminds me of being back in school so much :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I kind of agree with this, unless there is confirmation that MJ was somehow involved in the instrumental I struggle to feign interest. It helps if it's confirmed that it's a song he had liked and "parked" for later, but with the Loren songs especially, I just hear the "Loren's sound for MJ" rather than "MJ" coming out of the speakers.
There’s a few great writers demoes but the Loren stuff ain’t it. If nothing else, it’s passé now. Dance for Love, I’d enjoy hearing that. And anything Ne-Yo did for MJ would have appeal I think.

If The Red-One thing is true, MJ would have sounded fantastic with Gaga's sound from "The Fame". If anything, I remember hearing "Just Dance" for the first time and thinking "Jesus, if MJ could release a song like this which sounds fresh AND retro he would kill people."

Personally, I'd really like to hear the track he created for the proposed Janet duet. I wouldn't doubt it's repetitive, but I've been making a 4-19-90 Dangerous configuration to listen to:

I'm curious if the duet might change my mind, but... this version of Dangerous sounds like a Chinese knockoff Rhythm Nation. It's not great.
