The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

@GYWOOM I think this is the third time asking you this, but, did you know what versions of Shut Up And Dance we have?

i'd guess DBMR would've been in the 07-09 period, since that's the one where he was revisiting all the decades-old songs like GOAL, TYLA, Neverland Landing etc.

Thanks for the info, would love to hear this eventually--the HIStory stuff is just so interesting to me and it seems super mysterious. Also, were you the one people were saying had Ghost of Another Lover in good quality? Do you know if this CD has anything reworked from 2009?

I feel like after Scream leaked (or some other leaks) he decided his voice was too in demand.
I would say Xscape then Hold My Hand was the nail in the coffin. I don't remember who it was who said it but that leak absolutely devastated him and made him basically paranoid about laying his vocals down on a song and who had access to the tracks.

Not a relevant track to any ongoing conversation here just thought it was interesting.

I've brought this up here before but it wasn't confirmed until now. The track "Be Me 4 A Day" does NOT exist and the BMI registration is a false fabrication. I did a deep dive investigation and the co-writer (only person to ever claim it existed) Calix Grey has countless fraudulent registrations on BMI with various artists such as Tito, 3T, Brandy, and many others and she now writes science fiction novels. Really goofy situation.

I know that this is the "official" reason given, but like I pointed out before, the difficulty in getting MJ into the studio in those years -- he'd never show up when he was supposed to or he would cancel the studio dates at the last minute -- was probably a bigger factor in the lack of MJ leads.

Rodney created a whole personal phone line for MJ to record vocals on.

Agreed. I don't think Michael was paranoid about laying vocals, it was a task during this time to get him to commit to things

I think more so after the trial it was harder to get MJ in the studio. But during Invincible, he was at a different point in his life. Creatively, Dangerous and Bad were probably when he was most active.

Even during Invincible, he'd often be a no-show. It's been confirmed by the people who were in his entourage at the time, from the Darkchild guys to Boteach to the guy who took the picture that was supposed to be used for the CD cover. He'd take so much medication that he'd often be incapacited and not able/willing to go out. Same happened with Elvis. Part of the insane price tag for the Invincible project was wasted studio time, where Sony would have to pay for a bunch of people who came in to work and MJ didn't show.
