I don't think this is a recent list lmao, songs like Bottle of Smoke aren't real

People Have to Make Some Kind of Joke" was first publicly acknowledged by Jackson during his Mexico deposition in November 1993. According to him, he wrote it solely, and when he was asked if it was co-written, he stated that he wasn't sure.[1] No further info on "People Have to Make Some Kind of Joke" is currently available.

I have it on good authority this song was reworked during the Michael sessions by Teddy Riley, with additional overdubs done with vocals provided by Frank Casio

I wonder how many songs were still on the table in April/May '87.

Billboard , 05/23/1987

Good question. In the other article you posted, Frank said he and Michael sifted through 62 songs before agreeing on 18 of them. Smooth Criminal was filmed in March of 87 so he was still actively going through material before the album was anywhere near completion

If You Don’t Love Me… I’ve never liked this song, but I really can’t say why 🤷
Like Cheater, it’s missing something that would make it really good or great… but I like
Cheater much more though.
But I’m sure that if it were mixed differently (different instruments perhaps), the chances
of me liking If You Don’t Love Me would be higher.
All this = imo 😊
I never liked IYDLM either it always felt super corny to me and I get why it was never used. Cheater is a certified banger tho!!

It seems since day one of the "A team" sessions Michael was very keen on releasing IJCSLY, Bad & SC.

Plus with Bad and SC being filmed that early, he already knew it was going to make it but Michael said Q didn’t want it on the album so I wonder how early into the sessions did they agree to put it on there. Maybe late December 86?

Unrelated, but I’m certain that the spelling Bassouille is the correct spelling. It’s the name of an obscure farm in southern France, as well as a conjugated form of a regional French verb (bassouiller), meaning to splash with water or mud, among other things. Is it possible that the song itself has some sort of connection to those things?

Just to let everyone know, Brad Buxer is now going insane.
If you didn’t know, Brad sent his lawyer to copyright songs he was involved with on YouTube, like NLL for example. But now, he is going around and copyrighting songs that he had ZERO INVOLVEMENT WITH such as Sven Nelson’s uploads of I’m So Blue, SPYHO ‘87, Loving You ‘85, among others. I can see why he would copyright songs he was involved with such as Changes, but striking down songs he had nothing to do with? That’s just insane.

It’s also worth noting that the French Wikipedia article for the HIStory album seems to imply that Swedien and Jackson might’ve intended a bilingual pun with the word bass? See the following passage:
Bassouille : produit par Michael Jackson et Bruce Swedien. Comme le nom l'indique, ce morceau intègre des basses très fortes ;
I highly doubt this since the song has never been described as being “bass-heavy” by any of the people who worked on it. If that Ryan Arnold guy is to be believed, then it seems to be an orchestral track in the same vein as Childhood or Little Sussie / Pie Jesu.

Has there been any proof that it's Brad doing this? Other than the random lawyer twitter account with no profile picture lol.

Bassouille isn't real. Rob Hoffman, Swedien and Sundberg all said they've never heard of the title

I know of no such song, sorry! - Brad Sundberg

Wait it’s a confirmed fake? I feel retarded now for being so out of the loop regarding that song lol.

Interesting, I was ready to write about how it's 100% within his right to do this until I saw you said he was removing songs he has nothing to do with. That's very odd and also illegal (see YouTube, LLC v. Brady (D. Neb. 8:19-cv-00353)).

It was made up by a redditor that was larping that he worked on History lol he also said Tabloid Junkie originated from a Bad era demo
