The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Unbreakable is not, we're currently trying to figure out if that one is fake or real since the source is dubious. Threatened is a fanmade mix unrelated to the tape and will be removed. Heaven can wait is the only actual thing i can say is real out of this bunch.
Idk why but I thought two of the vids were Threatened, mb. Ik about the Unbreakable dispute, same thing happened with BoD

Also Michael recorded a song for the 1993 Despo named "Mentioned during the 1993 deposition."? Damn I didn't know he was a time traveler. Bro was preparing for the Despo for years!

U literally caught that error right when it happened lmaooo. Im watching the full deposition rn and there's quite a bit of stuff regarding unreleased demos nobody caught, I guess I'm one of the only people who actually has sat through it.

New things mentioned/confirmed:
Stranger In Moscow work tape - Sep. 1993
??? (ref. Stevie Wonder) - 1984
Starlight (ref. Rod Temperton) - 1981/1982

Things actually played:
The Girl Is Mine (I think it might be tampered by the uploader as it sounds like the vocals were filtered out) - 1981/1982
We Are The World (acapella demo with Lionel Richie speaking with MJ) - 1984

What's the time frames in the deposition for these? I've not heard of a Stevie submission in 1984 but I know he submitted something for Thriller and I know WATW was written in December 84

The "Unbreakable DAT Version" is just a fan edit with restored dynamic range. It's not real.

Are you saying there’s another new version of the deposition? Or the one @Stefano MJS released in January? If not I can assure you that many people have watched the currently available deposition tapes

It’s not well known that Stranger was written/demoed in Sept. 1993? How is Starlight being from 1981/2 new info?

The Girl is Mine 1981 work tape has been widely available for years, no?

I’m on the tracker wayyyy too much lol. Ive wanted to be an editor for a while but tbh atp there wouldn’t be much that I’d want to add anymore besides the WAHTCTW leaks (Ive been asking for a year now for that to be added)

The disposition is hours long, not many people have sat down and watched it all in its entirety

No, he means that a demo of Starlight that was sung by Temperton himself exists

Trust me, anyone who is actually interested in MJ's unreleased material has probably watched the one and only resource where he talks about unreleased material - it's been our primary resource on the topic for more than a decade

Temperton would present all his demos with a scratch vocal, this is not a new discovery

Quincy Jones asked Stevie to write a song in 1984, but he was taking too long so QJ asked Michael and Lionel instead - resulting in WATW. I assume this is what @Clay7 is referring to, but in this case it sounds as though Stevie didn't end up writing anything

I've always wondered what stage the songs mentioned during the deposition were at. Were they just written lyrics? Instrumentals? Demos with scratch vocals?

As I recall, the only leaked/released songs MJ mentioned were "Turnin' Me Off," "Chicago 1945," "Hot Street," "WALWTG," "Who Do You Know," "Fly Away," "Al Capone," and "Cheater," and those had vocals. In total, he mentioned over 54 songs—imagine if every single one had scratch vocals!

I bet, most of them have vocals

I’d say that most, if not all of them exist in demo form, even if only as an instrumental. As we know, Michael was far more likely to lay down a scratch vocal prior to 1993 vs after.

There are some examples, such as “Stand Tall”, of songs not named in the deposition and which, as far as we know, have no MJ vocals. So there may be some kind of correlation between having lead vocals and being named in the deposition, but in truth we don’t know
