This is just me thinking out loud (on a computer!:D) but I found it strange that the Jackson family seems/ed to be bumping heads with AEG just after MJ died. Katherine want Michael's AEG contract (that was a little fight) and Joe has publicly said that he believes that MJ only signed for 10 shows (AEG screwing MJ) and even Paris has been quoted as saying that "they worked daddy too hard." So why would The Jackson family allow AEG to produce the Memorial AND the Funeral if they think that AEG didnt have MJ's best interest at heart or were possibly associated with his death?
 
Propably the Jacksons didn't have resources to organize everything themselves?

Was the funeral also organized by AEG?? I thought the Estate paid for that... hmmm.

The estate paid for it (in the end) but AEG put it together. If not, then they certainly looked liked they did the way all the TII crew were running around.
