One more before I do. Just been told;

Michael Jackson's catalog was up 116% in US streams after the ‘Michael' film premiered.

He had 47.9 million listens from April 24-26.This is the biggest streaming week of his career.

Some people, even on here, will tell you this doesn’t matter - They’re wrong, it really DOES!

Although, if streaming were around in the 70’s and 80’s, we all know he would have set UNBREAKABLE records!

Like a few, ‘Chart Geeks’ I’ve been following this site, and others, for decades. This one has become, for some time, the go to for those wanting to see what’s really happening across the world, with charts (Apple, Deezer, iTunes, Spotify, YouTube. et al).

Beltrano (bow) will correct me if I’m wrong;

MJ does very well - for a legacy artist with, normally no new releases - around the 150-200 points mark ish most of the time?

I take an interest at Halloween, when for a few weeks before and after, he moves up to 500 + points? (My memory isn’t what it used to be but, don’t think I’m far off).

He’s currently at a peak of;

7367 points! Yes - 7367!!

That’s unprecedented, to my knowledge.

UPDATE:

MJ had an overnight peak of 7422

I’m my experience, this COULD be the peak or, it could get another lift at the weekend - perhaps depending on how many see the film. We will see.

Either way. It’s huge amount for any artist and, a MASSIVE amount for a Legacy artist. As an MJ fan, and stat lover, It makes me proud and gives me joy. So MJ fans.

I even believe numbers could still increase, because around me (small town, generation 30-50 years old) there is not much awareness about the movie and it's not yet in small theaters and it is not a topic on radio. But with this success they will have to pick up the topic.

I think the MICHAEL film and MJ numbers should get a BIG lift in JUNE - when the film is finally released in JAPAN

Japan has always loved MJ.

They have never really bought into the blatant lies about him. That’s why I love them
