Why should they? He is Nr 1 in these countries. And if they do not change the price, the song is better comparable. So they know about Michael's popularity year by year in a simple way.

I don't think there's any reason why itunes should lower the price, tbh. Plus it would dilute the integrity of the result, surely? itunes is a business and they want to make money. They don't care which song is at No.1 as long as people are spending money. Which is fair enough, imo.

I'm not really on board with this but I understand the frustration. The estate (or whoever runs the social media for MJE) posted a feeble tweet yesterday reminding people that Thriller (the video) got included in the Library of Congress. Unfortunately, bc they are fairly crap (imo!) they got the date wrong. It didn't get inducted in 2009, it was 2007. So the feeble effort they put in wasn't even accurate.

I did see a couple of tweets on X mildly chastising the estate for not helping with pushing Thriller during Halloween. They must have been deleted bc I can't find them now.

So dumb. Thriller has 6.7 million streams. But divided between 2 versions.
Where would it be if the 6,7 million was for one version only?

If I'm the estate that's one of the things I would clean up. If there's no SIGNIFICANT difference between versions, throw it off streaming.
F*ck an edit ;)!

Same with Black Or White, it would be Dangerous' most successful track! Yet it's bubbling under, with 2 versions each with 250 million streams. Would there be just one, it'd be in the Top10 of his songs - where it should rightfully be!
