The truth about Lisa Marie’s and Michaels marriage

They first met in 1975, at a concert in Las Vegas when Lisa Marie Presley attended a Jackson 5 concert.
They began an adult friendship many years later during a dinner that they had with a mutual friend (Los Angeles, 1992).
When the singer faced these child sexual abuse accusations against him (August, 1993), he started phoning her for emotional support.
During one of those phone conversations (in 1993), he proposed to her.
The pair finalized their divorce in 1996 (August), which seems to explain why the singer appeared to be slightly sad backstage of the HIStory tour.
They were still together on and off for 4 years following their divorce, and Lisa Marie Presley even attended few HIStory concerts when she also visited him backstage.
Many people and media outlets thought that their marriage at that particular time was a move on his part in order to distract attention from these very serious accusations against him.

Yeah, I was there the whole time.
but why they divorced? Somre sources claim, that happened because Michael wanted kids from Lisa, but she didnt... Others claims it happened because of Lisa's sect, which she was trying to get Michael into... And as far as i know Michael trully loved Lisa... from the bottom of his heart. But she rejected him... So he was convinced to take Debbie's proposal to make him kids and then he had to marry her (because his mother insisted on it)

Yeah, seems like she was also pressured by Scientology to sign a divorce. That was really interesting to read.
I don't know where she said this, but it also seems like that she probably thought that this would/could open up a new conversation with Michael, but instead he also signed the divorce papers, and she kind of taken aback by this? If someone can find a source of this, please post a link.
