Thriller 40th Anniversary

Richard Lecocq: "Regarding Billie Jean: I had confirmation that the restoration is more complex to achieve because it is in 16mm. Not sure we have it in this vintage at the end of 2022.
Beat It and Thriller are 35mm, so it’s easier to get a good result.

This pretty much confirmed that they probably saw the 1st April post here. Thought about T40, made both covers in 10 minutes, got some songs from the nearest hdd, filled the gaps with released songs and probably fetched the imax remaster for thriller and the moonwalker remaster for beat it and upscaled them to 4k. Since it seems Billie Jean is still in the works. It looks like they started remastering after they saw the backlash for that crap font
 
Okay so what did I miss? They took the HD versions of Thriller and Beat it off Apple and Tidal?? Any reason for this? I’m perplexed…
 
now a few days before the Thriller 40th anniversary album release i'm seriously wondering why they don't do more promotion for the anniversary release so far not seen much on tv or anything like that if you want a big hit then of course you need to do more promotion sony and the estate?🤷

They do not care
 
Thriller was already remastered in 2017 so theres no excuse for being behind on any of the other films for this project.

Big 3 should have been restored months If not years ago.

As stupid as this sounds -since were talking about the biggest album ever- this would explain everything.
It just seems that album (re)releases or Video remasters are not a priority at all to the estate. Basically everything created by MJ himself seems to be less important to them.

Let's not forget that arguably the most expensive part of the campaign, the 4K/3D remaster of ‘Thriller’, was done years ago.

It seems like MJs music hasn't been a priority to Sony since at least 1997. The Estate is basically in support of them. They have their own legacy to create they think. MJ's back catalog still sells itself really.

Can they just correct all of their mistakes and get ONE thing write with this project, and that being, uploading Thriller, Beat It and Billie Jean all in 4K simultaneously across all platforms and announce it on all their social platforms the minute it goes live

Might save one single shred of credibility they have remaining with this project, idiots.

Yep, completely agree, I said the same on a post a few days back, I have no faith in them, they have no passion for Michael or his music, just to make money (MJ Musical and MJ One are superb for them, cash cows without having to do maintenance)

Hence I said "with this project" as they have lost it everywhere else and with this thus far lol

Best thing with this project: some new demos, some hq leaks, mofi vinyl, sacd, 4k videos.

It's weird that the Estate not caring about the project at all is better somehow that the whole T25 project.
