Unseen Jackson footage sparks £4m bidding war/ Film fails to sell

I hope it will be released.

DWT needs a proper release - not the crap Bucharest we got with absolutely NO extra material!

I wish the Estate release Dangerous at Wembley in 1992. Michael's energy was awesome. I'm obsessed with the Dangerous Tour. I download whatever I can find on the web. I've been waiting for the Argentina concert to leak for a long time. Unlike the History tour, footages of the DWT usually come from MTV and are very short and incomplete.

The driver says the singer gave him the VHS tape as "a reward or a bonus" for his "transportation services" after he had helped provide transport when Jackson performed in Sao Paulo, Brazil, a few weeks earlier.

OMG! :wild:

lol, I've noticed MJ's always rubbing Siedah's leg but here is different, he also grabs her shorts
and Siedah's expression here is so funny, the second Michael grabs her shorts she almost bursts out laughing in the middle of the song

But yeap, the quality is not good -_-

:naughty:

its kind of interesting (not emplying anything) that this is the dangerous concert that is being leaked from the same place that Frank Cascio brings up especially in his book.. Just kinda interesting to me.. brings it to life

My best choice of DWT would be Wembley 1992 or Monza 1992 (7th july). I would love to see this though. I simply cannot believe that's the quality of the actualy tape. That must be uploaders fault. The raw tape probably looks a lot better. And we have NOT enough of DWT. HWT is so much that if there would be an official release, I would be very disappointed. Hell, we even have Munich 1997 in HD!! DWT should be released 2nd after BWT. BWT is 1st choice, of course. Although I'm fan of DWT, I love Bad as well.
I simply can't understand the fans that want History tour release... Just speechless.

^^^ true. History was too much of the same for me. Very little imagination and too much miming. It's not a good showcase for mj's talent imo.

History Tour has so many material due the short life "Kingdom entertaiment". Dangerous tnx to the HBO deal, we could at least get one full concert. It's not like it lacks on material, it's just with distribution that makes releasing stuff not that easy. for everything must be done a deal, else nothing goes. Eventrough the 90s deal with Sony, i think, included releasing of such stuff.
Also i think one of the biggest issue was, that Michael was always not satisfied with the end result. Yes, he was a perfectionist, but he was also very stubborn. We've problably would have never have seen anything, if it goes after Michael. and the lack of 80's material proves it. Good there were people, that could convince him :)

About the miming on HT, he proved his talent at the Victory, Bad and Dangerous tours. His voice was "gone" in HT, so he decided to concentrate only on dancing. And i think that was good so, else he would have been not able to record anything after that tour. thats my opinion. People expect from a performer to sing and dance and give always 100%. thats not possible. especially on tour that lasts one year, 3-4 days a week.

Michael had a problem with his voice in HIStory. Don't know what it was,but it must have been an illness. He was back for Invincible so it must have been.

I dont see this being released from this VHS.. any company that could purchase this would want masters because they know the selling power of this quality is low.. Masters can only be taken to REAL HD quality video and sound.. Now there are low budget companies that buy rights and release like that one company did with yokahama.. but the issue with this is yokahama was not on sale for 4 million, they just ripped the copy leaked and got publishing rights (IDK how).. they are considered low budget because.. they have a LOW BUDGET, they cud not afford to buy a 4 million dollar concert, then turn around and make more than 4 million (considering the lack of finances in advertizing/and quality of the film).. AND considering that an HD Dangerous concert has already been released which would deminish its selling potential.. any company would know that this purchase would be a loss in revenue..

its silly to think a 4 million dollar sale for a concert (though a different country) that has been released, and other footage leaked all over the internet.. the only chance this has to be purchased is from a rich fan that has too much money to blow.. maybe will.i.am will be chillin' watching this for christmas lol

l hope it's gonna be leaked or released.
That's not good if they bid it not good at all for poor fans like me.
l wish l won Lotto to bid it so then l can have the right to leak it.

I'm sorry, but I would LOVE to see History Tour released. I would love to have official release of Munich. It's such a great show.

An official release of HWT Munich would be just as stupid as releasing BWT Yokohama 87!

We have all seen both concerts, HWT Munich have been shown on TV 1000s of times.

For the love of God - release something we do not already have!!!

Wtf? I just don't understand you, man. HWT Munich release would be pointless. I wouldn't buy it.

Munich 97 show is very likely to be released. it's problably the only show recorded in high def.
the first edit is same as the copenhagen, helsinki and gothenburg shows. it was re-edited (twice) in a way Bucharest is, for the mainstream (overload with crowd shots) and the audio is mixed differently, then the other 97 shows. the other shows and the "uncut" version of Munich, are recordings of what is been shown on the screenwalls. Like the Bucharest show it was done for the wide audience and Michael has some coolness, that in the other shows isn't present.
I also prefer to see other concert then the Munich one. Maybe one of the 96 leg. Just like Bucharest, Munich show is great, almost perfect. It's just we are tired of both. But I highly doubt, estate/sony would make effort to edit another show for wide release. the other shows are good, but not good enough for release. And mayby there isn't material for such release.
Thats how I see it.
mostly is like that, one city is decided to be recorded for broadcast/official release. It's almost all of the time city where 2-3 shows are held, so then they can be mixed to one. And the artist strains to give good/best preformance as possible.

Its still listed on page 2 of the lots.
Lot number 111.

Actually DWT Bucharest 1992 was shot on early HD cameras as well. They tested, but without Michael's knowing. In Munich show Michael wanted to test HD himself. So, basically there could be Bucharest 1992 broadcast in HDTV.

Ok, but what does tested mean? that the whole shows was recorded that way or only 1-2 cameras were hd. cause you can definately see that hd cameras are used on Munich for the whole show.
the camers used in 90's, were different or to say better to the 80's. the 80's had alot of disadvantages, especialy with lighting. I kind of doubt it.

Michael Jackson film fails to sell

Previously unseen footage of Michael Jackson's 1993 Dangerous tour, which had been expected to fetch 4-5 million pounds ($US6.2-7.8 million) failed to sell at auction in Britain on Sunday.

"At this stage it has not sold," said a spokesman for The Fame Bureau auctioneers, who specialise in pop memorabilia. "We are still talking to people, but online it did not sell."

He said he was confident a buyer would be found, although "nothing is a certainty".

The auction house said it had been forced to remove a brief clip of the video from its website before the online auction after Jackson's record label made a "copyright claim".

The fact that a successful buyer may not be able to use the film for commercial purposes may have dampened demand given the hefty asking price, but the spokesman played down the copyright dispute.

"I don't think that was a problem at all," he said, adding that any serious potential buyer would be fully aware of the issue.
Nearly two hours long, the footage was shot by Jackson's own production crew and meant to be an intimate portrait of Jackson on tour.

But the singer was unhappy with the quality and gave the only copy to his driver, who was now trying to sell the footage, the auction house said.

It was made during Jackson's Dangerous tour in 1993 at a stop in Argentina.

A DVD of the "Dangerous" concert tour, filmed in Bucharest, was released in 2005 and is still available on Amazon.com and other retailers for about $US12.

Items related to Jackson have skyrocketed in value since his death in 2009.
The red and black leather jacket he wore for his 1983 Thriller video sold for $US1.8 million in Los Angeles in June.

I find it very odd that Fame Bureau leaves that sample video of the concert on the front page when it cant be viewed becuase of a claim by SME. When people see that of cource they become more suspicious about buying it. But like they said most people that would be seriously interested in purchasing that film already know they cant use it for selling to the public. they can only resell it to a individual. Also with that in mind the $4-5 Million dollar price tag is ridiculas.

I have to laugh at some fans on twitter posting angry Sony Sucks tweets blaming them for the film not selling

like I said, it would not sell!! it needs to be dropped out of the million range.. if they expect a sale

Why would the estate want to bid on it? This is a copy of the nocturne masters (shot on every show) of which the estate have the masters.

This guy already tried selling copies on a web site which the estate rapidly closed down.

It seems unlikely that this auction will be completed. But the auction house is going to get a ton of free publicity even if the tape is withdrawn - win/win for them.

Bump (er Snippet)

This is what GoFlying had to say about the nocturne masters.
And he probably knows more than we all together.

For those who don't know:
He is the guy who created the master mix of the wembley shows, two nights i think. 15th & 16th if i remember right.
His mix is in the APOM video. His mix will be on the Bad25 live cd 6 hopefully on the dvd.

Did Michael really give this guy this, or did he simply find it in Michael's car like the driver who found Michael's mask in his car and sold it at auction? I am getting very skeptical of people who claim Michael gave them something since his death.

the estate should find a deal with this guy and get the movie...they could give it to Michael's children and they decide if it should be realeased or not...anyway it is tour footage, nothing really unseen before...

I thought the seller was up to shenanigans? Not surprising it failed to sell.
