Before their concert at The Retro Festival in Lucerne, Switzerland, we had the chance to meet Jackie and Marlon Jackson for a short interview, during which they thanked us fans. More concerts are scheduled for 2026, and of course we wanted to know how long they plan to keep performing and whether Jermaine will be returning.

When we asked them about their companions and inspirations, alluding to the biopic “Michael,” Marlon mentioned a name that sounds like “Thommy Jones” (starting at 3:10), along with Suzanne De Passe, Bill Bray, Berry Gordy, and Rose Fine. Does anyone have any idea who he’s referring to?

With the help of ChatGPT, I figured out that he might have been referring to Reynaud Jones.

According to this article from onmjfootsteps, they used to rehearse in his basement in Gary, and he was their keyboardist in the beginning. https://onmjfootsteps.com/2016/06/1...as-des-freres-jackson/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Or who do you think he might be referring to with the surname Jones?

Lovely thread. I honestly don't know who Thommy Jones is so can't help there but love that Rose Fine is mentioned. She was m;s primary school teacher! It is especially good to have an interview with Jackie and Marlon naming other notable names. I wish them well. Actually I was only thinking today it would be kind of lovely, if Michael's big bro Jackie would speak / do an interview ...and I'm glad to know it already happened. 😌 Sorry I can't help any further, I really hope we get the answer to the question but it is a great thread.

edit - Possibly it could be Reynaud Jones then ? .... The Jackson 5 first formed in 1964. Joe found Tito playing with his guitar after a string broke once, and was impressed enough to buy him his own guitar. Tito, Jermaine, Jackie, Michael (age 5), and their friends Reynaud Jones and Milford Hite formed their own group in 1965. Marlon joined later on the tambourine in August 1965. The group named themselves "The Jackson Five Singing Group"

It's Tony Jones, Jermaine mentioned him in his book: "Our day-to-day manager was Suzanne de Passe. She oversaw everything we did and played a pivotal role in keeping what Joseph had cultivated, but framing it within Motown’s vision. She, with Tony Jones and Shelly Berger, worked all hours to make our operation run like clockwork under Mr. Gordy’s command."

Thanks for the interview!

Thank you! It must be him. I`ll correct the subtitles...

That was a great interview! Thank you for sharing! 🙏🏻❤️ Jackie and Marlon are so nice and they have such great sense of humor. I can totally imagine Marlon and Michael pranking everyone together and just joking around and laughing! ❤️😂❤️

Bill Bray was their bodyguard and was Michael’s bodyguard for ages all the way until I think almost HIStory tour but until Dangerous tour for sure. It was Bill and Wayne for ages. Both were awesome. After Bill it was Wayne and Yannick for ages, then Wayne and Skipper, then Skipper and Attila, and after that I couldn’t even keep track of his bodyguards and didn’t even know whst their names were. 🤷‍♀️

Rose Fine was their teacher/tutor who travelled with them and Michael LOVED Miss Fine! ❤️ If I remember correctly, Michael met her later on in life too and I think there’s a pic if rhem together too when Michael was already an adult.

Suzanne de Passe worked with them in the 60’s and 70’s and helped them rehearse and Berry Gordy obviously was the head of Motown.

That one name sounded like Tony Jones to me but I have no idea who that could be. 🤔 Never heard of anyone called Jones other than Quincy Jones. I know one of their cousins called Tony used to tour with Michael during the Bad tour at least I think. That’s the only Tony I can ever remember hearing about. 🤔

Prediction : that Jacksons documentary is vapor at this stage and will never come out.
