Many people were unhappy with my top three picks for Dangerous and History, so I’ve decided to create another poll. I wanted to include songs from both albums in one go, but unfortunately, there’s a 10-option limit per poll... History will have to get its own separate poll then

Guys, let’s get at least 6 more people to vote. Right now, it’s still too close to call the top three winners 😅

there are more than three top songs
I voted for BoW, Heal the World and Give in to Me

I voted Will You Be There, Jam, Give In To Me. After that is probably BOW. Depending on my mood, Keep The Faith and Gone Too Soon are both great.

Why did so many people vote for Give In To Me? Can someone explain how that works? 😅 I love the song too, almost as much as Who Is It. They’re both great tracks that Michael never performed live, but I still prefer Who Is It. My main issue with GITM is its length. Even though it's only 5:30 long, I feel exhausted by the end of it. It feels a bit dragged out. If it were trimmed down to 3 or 4 minutes, it would be perfect. The irony is that Who Is It is 6:30 long, yet I never get tired of it! It feels less repetitive compared to GITM... I don't know. Both songs are dark and aggressive. Maybe it's just because I'm not a huge fan of heavy metal

Give in to me is not that repetitive. I could listen all day long without being tired of it. It's a banger for me 🥳
In my opinion, he should have done more rock songs

For me, Dangerous is the one that feels too long and unnecessarily repetitive.

I'd love GITM even more if it was more aggressive. It's quite unusual among MJ songs.

The song Dangerous has an acoustic sharpness and freshness that simply sounds timeless. Jam and WYWTOM carry important messages. I think these three are my favorites among Riley's tracks.

I think the GITM is truly captivating, its length has its own magic. It's like a real hurricane of Michael's energy; I never tire of listening to it.

Guys, you are probably going to tear me to pieces for this, but I literally just re-listened to Give In To Me and Who Is It, and I liked the latter much more. Honestly, I feel like Who Is It has aged better. I think it’s because GITM is primarily a rock song, and that specific guitar sound really feels like a relic of the past... No offense.

By the way, I have the same grievance with songs like Whatever Happens and Superfly Sister - if you took out the guitar solos, the tracks would sound a bit... more modern? I actually listen to modern punk rock, indie, and pop rock almost every day. And putting on GITM now, I realize that the instrumental makes it feel like something ancient... Who Is It, on the other hand, is more "old-school" Michael. The main focus here is on the bass and percussion. My favorite part is Michael’s beatboxing at the end. It’s such a shame he only performed it once... and even then, not on stage

This was so hard, but in the end I picked:
  • Will You Be There
  • Dangerous
  • Who Is It?
Will You Be There will always be one of his finest treasures, to me. The long version may be a little too much for some with the choir intro, but once it gets going, you realize it's a beautiful piece of art with brilliant lyrics. The buildup is great the first time you immerse yourself into it. The outro is really emotional. Find me another artist who can make himself this vulnerable.

I always loved Dangerous the first time I heard it. It was hard deciding between this and Remember The Time/Give Into Me. Maybe I will change my mind, because at times Remember The Time and Give Into Me are the "it" songs of the day.

Who Is It is one of those songs that just gets better and better through repeated listenings. Without a doubt my favorite song of the album. So many raw emotions, repeated without ever getting stale, boring or repetitive. There is nothing more to say here: The song is a journey through Michael's emotions.

Best version for me of WYBT is the 5:52 version on the Free Willy soundtrack album. Doesn't have the long drawn out choir at the beginning like the Dangerous album version. Neither is it clipped too short like the Reprise version used on Essential. As for the song Dangerous, it's just too long and monotonous for me. Best version of In The Closet is the Video Version. My favourite way of listening to those two songs now are with Dangerous Immortal Version (which incorporates ITC) leading straight into ITC (Essential Version). It flows from one to the other perfectly.
