Would you say that Michael’s 2005 trial suit outfits were inspired by 1800s/ Victorian fashion?

To me, Michael’s suits in the 2005 trial looked Victorian-era (waist coats, high collars, trousers).

Did Michael’s designers ever talk about their ideas for the 2005 trial fashions?

Michael Jackson's designers have talked about their ideas for his 2005 trial fashions.

For example:

"We buy every magazine in the world - men's, women's, children's, interior design, anything with visual images. Then we all sit spread-eagle on the floor looking for ideas. Dennis [Tompkins] gets out his sketchpad and pencil and starts sketching. It's collaborative. [Michael Jackson] is very open to suggestions" (Michael Bush)

Michael Bush also revealed that Michael Jackson's vests (during the 2005 trial) were made with silk from India, jacquards from Europe and faux reptile fabric from Downtown Los Angeles.

Michael Bush also revealed that the singer (during the 2005 trial) loved military details because they demand attention, they have clean lines and they fit almost like dance clothes.

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss! Yes ! Yes!
Some of the very best that he ever looked. In my opinion.
They were so classy and made with such details ,.. And the beautiful fabrics are something to write home about! Hardly anyone could resist that.
