Michael Jackson: Thriller 25 (2,238,500 Worldwide Sales) - #12
Kid Rock: Rock'n'Roll Jesus (2,153,000 Worldwide Sales) - #13

The difference is only 85,500! People sell that much in a week and unless those figures are for last week chances are he could have passed him. Another thing it would seem is people haven't read the thread because they're are making stupid statements.

i hate to think of it this way but itseems that the wma has made a joke out of michael! grrrrr! everyone almost shared surprise over his nomination. why was he nominated in the first place?! anyone who knows wma's criteria in chosing nominees and in selecting winners?

Thats why shes nominated for the World best pop female artist (equivalent to MJs category) and world best RnB artist.

Seriously i have not heard kid rock new song at all....imo i just think whoever sold the most should won it. Isnt what that award is really bout?
 
it's ok if he did not win. anyway, michael jackson holds the record for the most wma awards won by a male artist (he got 15). he is second to mariah who won a total of 16 wma's. also michael has been awardeed Legend award. the fact that he continues to earn nomination for a reworked album is not bad after all

Uh, yeah. Well, she is one of the biggest selling acts this year. She just hasn't sold as many copies of her album as Michael has of his.
 
Well, it's alright I guess. Even though Michael sold a lil' more.. I agree he didn't do much this year, and etc. I know.. but still it's like.. WHUT. o_o

But it's okay... psh... at least Michael got the Legend Award last time, and that's better. :lol: Michael has accomplished so much, one award missed is fine. :) I'm sure in the Michael will win something in the near future.. But, It does not really matter. He has done so much.

I'm not mad at all he didn't won, so the f**k what. LOL

That's just plain BS that Michael Jackson did not win. Since when did KId Rock become a Pop Artist? Since when did Kid Rock have any talent? Michael sold the most albums and therefore should be the rightful winner. When is the world going to start showing MJ the respect he deserves and has earned. If it weren't for him, many people in the industry (and that includes the media) wouldn't be where they are today. I now put the WMAs in the Grammys category. That is straight down the toilet where it belongs. What jerks! :(

there is no doubt she's feenin over MJ. her..her dancers..always wearing MJ garb. she wants him bad..and admires him mighty.
 
Man ... that sucks. I mean, I know Michael can't win everything he's up for, but come on, KID ROCK?! The man's biggest hit ripped off two other songs! Oh well, he did win a big award two years ago; maybe the WMA folks just wanted to be sure they didn't look like MJ is a shoe-in every time he gets a nomination.
 
Everyone that is complaining should quit crying and get over it. Honestly I am surprised as you are when I first read it, but getting nominated for an album that is 25 years old and having remixes that were performed by other artists is praise enough. No one can or would compare Michael Jackson's talents to Kid Rock's but I think it is great that he got recognized on his own merit.

For those that want to diss Kid Rock, do some research. The man has been around for quite some time and has done Rap, Hip Hop, Country, Rock and Roll, etc so I think that puts him in the category of Pop(ular). He has some skill and I really enjoy his music. I have been meaning to pick up his latest and after seeing the WMA results I have a bigger desire to get "Rock and Roll Jesus." It is obvious a good album regardless of what you think…
 
If MJ decided to maybe put out some new music, he'll probably start raking in the rewards. Until then, the likes of Kid Rock and whoever else will reap the benefits of their hard work. I have no doubt that MJ is working hard on a new album, but he ain't put anything decent out in over a decade. Anyway, even though I don't like Kid Rock, Good on him.
