Michael Jackson - The Duet Album 2013?

No. No. No.

Terrible idea. I don't want to hear any other artist on a Michael Jackson track unless HE decided that he wanted them on there. No Gaga's, No Bieber's, No Usher's, No Rihanna, No nothing.

If they are going to continue to release unheard tracks then they such only release those that were completed by Michael. I don't think anyone else should be allowed to mess with his work.

Well like it or not, people can, and will, at the end of the day Michael does not have many songs that CAN be released (35-40 solo songs that have viability) along with 100+ songs that are REALLY incomplete (BN is a good example) like it has a verse, a chorus, a bridge and a couple of ad libs, but thats it, so what do you want? James Porte again? Heavy melodyne? No, the only thing apart from that is duets, and personally i would like to hear what Michael recorded during his final years

I don't believe that Michael left only 30 to 40 releasable songs! I've always read for years and years that Michael had hundreds of unreleased songs!

Usher, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Lady GaGa (one of the RedOne tracks), Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas (one of the will.i.am tracks), Akon & T-Pain. (with all stars).

l hope without those + it makes me feel that Michael recorded something with Lady Gaga?

is there any photo Michael with this b******* ?

Uhm Lets see what would sell best.
mainstream artists doing a duet with their idol,
getting interest from for example Lady Gaga´s fanbase
or Usher´s fanbase or whatever plus Michael´s fanbase
2x fanbase for one song

or "unreleased, basically stuff Michael did not found good enough to be on his albums"
released as a new album

hmm

Guess you know the answer to that one.

I've always heard that too.

Seems too weird if he only left 30-40 finished songs.

Do you really think there are just 30-40 releasable songs left ? I don't think so. Sony will make money out of everything they can find...

I seriously don't give a rat's ass about any sort of interest from any of these artists's fanbases. As you may know 90% of the artists's fanbases you just mentioned are just young teens who are very impressionable and don't care much about the quality of the music itself as they they do about the date/fashion/popularity of the music they listen to which contradicts with Michael's view and beliefs regarding "the quality of music an artist puts out". The other 10% might be somewhat more inteligent than that but still...

And regarding your last statement. It's not just "unreleased song Michael didn't found good enough to release them"! There are a lot of songs Michael just didn't found the time and/or space for to put them on any album he was working. He put a lot of time, love and effort in his music and like he said, he used to record a ton of songs durring one session. Obviously, not all the songs he recorded for one album could be on the final version of the album. There were finished songs that were left out and put in a vault. If Michael didn't care about those songs he put time and effort in the first place why would he still keep them and not throw them away as they would be "useless", why do you think he would re-work on a specific song? Because he was looking to see if he could possibly release it on a potential upcoming album.

Bottom line: I don't care about what any non-Michael fan cares about Michael. I know I love him and hope to hear stuff he was previously working on...

Gaga? hmmm, not a fan of her. I like the idea of an MJ duet album, but atm artists are using things like autotune too much. I don't want to hear michael's voice all robot like.

The unreleased material is probably all over, in that different people probably have some possession over Michael material are are waiting behind the lines to do something with it... or maybe Sony is stubborn and wants to put out "their" MJ stuff that's highly editted and sounds mainstream enough for money money money. For example, where the heck did dykwyca, place with no name, b.g., and even sttr come from?! Michael propbably did so many collabs and probably recorded in so many different places that anyone could have one of his recordings... It's like a traveling artist or painter or doodles in his spare time in between paintings. Maybe he'll leave some doodles behind or draw something for someone here or there and depart to finish an official painting in france somewhere. But when he dies, then all of his left behind work comes to light slowly and an evil art collector(sony) buys up some scraps here and there, and pollishes them without the artist's consent and puts out an exhibit and even includes pieces not even done by the artist(cascio paintings) and bam, there you have it. So, maybe, we'll be seeing more of Michael's doodles if anyone possesses any of his former work... but unfortunately rarely will these pieces arise unscathed. Someone will add some brush marks and lines here and there to make it more their style which is the case with sttr and even best of joy. But, there's more to come, but I look forward more to the unofficial releases than the sony ones though.

Totally agree. For example Billie Jean almost didn't make it in Thriller and if i am not mistaken Smooth Criminal was included in the album the last minute. Who knows.Maybe there are some gems in those ureliased songs. By the way, sales are not everything.

i dont really know... but not gaga! I always thought of having my 2 idols (michael, darren hayes) on 1 track would be brilliant, 2 amazing voices on 1 song, but i know for sure that wouldnt happen lol

I have nothing against GENUINE MJ recordings being used for this album - it'd be fun, especially if they include previous stuff like BeeGees, Mercury etc

Just choose fabulous people, not just 2011 stars

i don't like this idea at all :( i would much rather another album with just Michael on it, with a exception of one or two duets. and no casio tracks! i want to hear Blue Gangsta, DYKWYCA, STTR and A Place Without No Name ( if it was completed ) on an album. some of the will.i.am tracks i want to hear as well.

I'd love to hear the full version of 'I'll be there - Pepsi commercial'

Now that's a duet I'd love to hear!

Was that version ever completed?

I wish they stop messing around with MJJ's songs, and give us unreleased already finished & produced songs by Michael Jackson. (I love HMH but barely I can hear MJJ on that song, it is just first verse is MJJ the rest I hear Akon. Hollywood tonight Tarryl spoken bridge is too damn long).

What do you mean UNCORROBORATED?!

http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2...n-michael-jackson-collaboration-that-could-h/

http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/hi...ichael-jackson-wanted-to-work-with-lady-gaga/

So if this isn't true then Travis Payne is also on your Liar Liar Pants On Fire list

"uncorroborated: lacking confirmation or evidence". ie, Michael Jackson, the only person who could actually confirm what you said as the truth, didn't confirm it.

And Travis Payne says whatever his employer tells him to say. If you believe what he says you'd believe that Michael Jackson was back to his 'Bad Tour' peak in This Is It!

Not every word from his mouth is scripted, not everything is a conspiracy...

Was Michael 'back to his best' in This Is It? If you believe that - like Travis said - then you should watch some of his Bad tour videos on Youtube.

I find it bad enough when people record supposed duets and it turns out they never met & was all done in separate studios/countries. This is even worse & I hope never happens. One song, maybe yes but an album's worth is distasteful.

It worked out great for B.o.B and Hayley Williams :).

Dont expect Sony to try to keep his legacy,
Sony just wants whatever that sells, all i was saying before is
Sony do not care about your feelings, they just want to sell
whatever that sells best, and if a duet album does then is just too bad for you all.

Well, they are a business after all. I wouldn't expect this to sell though. Maybe half the numbers of 'Michael'.

If Sony want some stuff to sell then release the fricken Bad Tour before everyone loses interest. Both on DVD & CD.

So let me get this straight, you're basically saying that Sony is willing to risk their ass by putting out altered Michael Jackson sonds and/or non-Michael Jackson songs to make a few quick bucks (since most MJ fans won't by that B.S twice after what happened with "Michael") insted of releasing genuine MJ songs in their finished/unfinished state of production which is what 99% of Michael Jackson fans want, and will buy and support.

I belive the only way of making Sony really see what we want is by not buying any B.S. their willing to try to trick us with and be loud about what we really want.

Yes. For a 50 year old man, even the critics agreed that he was still the great ole MJ in the movie.

IMO it depends on how they do the album. If they put big/respected names on it I can see it selling very well. With a couple of duets with the likes of Beyonce, Gaga, Alicia, not only will the album sell, but the singles will get a lot more airplay than what he's getting now.

IMO he was at his best since 1989. TII was the good old MJ at the top of his game, so much better than in the Invincible era.
Live vocals and creativity... - he was on another level compared to performances from the last 20 years.
