Michael Jackson’s Halloween - New animated special coming this fall

Well I showed this to my 4 year old daughter and she and I am going to watch it for sure. We don't know any details yet...
 
It might introduce more people to his music. I don't understand the negative reactions. Maybe it's because my days of getting super hyped for a MJ release are gone? It kind of went with him. Excited maybe especially if it's things like new footage. But it's not going to be how things were and I'm not giving whatever we get super high expectations. It ain't the same so... I'm not expecting it to be. They're going for mass appeal then fan appeal. Besides more fans means Michael will still be remembered long after we are gone. Generation after generation. I mean he would for what he accomplished anyway but more fans isn't a bad thing is what I'm trying to say.
 
For a moment I was low-key mad because I was expecting Thriller 3D news, but now I think I love the idea behind this. The plot sounds very cute and most importantly - children will get familiar with Michael's music. This obviously isn't geared towards hardcore fans but can make new ones. The Estate have other projects as well, so no need to be dramatic. I think Michael would have liked this. Plus I think we'll get an animated Michael doing the Thriller dance and that's cute so I can't hate.

100% agree with the above. I for one think that Bad 25 is one of the best anniversary releases I've ever come across.

The only insult was the Michael album.

That crappy hollosham was an insult too and Pitbull was a face slap. Bad25 is great though no doubt.
 
oh.. this is not i was hoping for. i thought they were restoring film for all these years in shadow, but no. They was making a cartoon. What Estate can provide to adult fans? We have the answer - fake songs, vhs concert, just horrible remixes, sd shortfilms and little snippets from shows we wanted to see in full. Anytime as they releasing something, it feels like they stealing something from us. That's not okay at all.

Totally agree, I don't know when I got to see a full HD concert...No HD concert for the best performer ever, it's a shame!
 
I'm one of those people who still enjoys cartoons, classic animated, Pixar movies and anime despite being in my 30s. This project looks promising even if it's not aimed for everyone, I can't wait to see it!
 
Did it ever occur to anyone that the possible reason why we don't get the projects we ask for is because the fanbase has been overwhelmingly critical of nearly every single project the Estate has released, including projects fans did ask for and received (i.e. Bad 25, Xscape demos, OTW Doc)? A good portion of the fanbase has actually boycotted any and all Estate projects as well.


Furthermore, just because this project is happening doesn't mean that the Thriller one isn't.

Exactly.

What are people expecting? This isn't 1991, 1995, 2001. The man is gone. Anything & I repeat anything we get is a bonus*

* I obviously exclude Cascio & Pitbull from that.

Hopefully this animation brings together all of Mike's horror records & introduces people to Threatened, Ghosts & Is It Scary.
 
Intresting. Could be pretty good if its top notch animation. look forward to see how it develops At least its something new rather than just a re release in 3D that went out or never came into fashion years ago.
 
regarding complains about restored footage.. This isn't the 3D Thriller project.. at least I hope not/and doubt lol... so lets see what that project comes up to be. for the 'adult' fans.. I'm not mad at this cartoon idea, I was just expecting/hoping for something different I guess. I'll take it though!
 
Considering mj was working on this pre june 09 and it was something he wanted to do would some of you still be complaining if this was mj doing this and not the estate.after all they are for once carrying out mjs wishes.nothing wrong with that

Yes. This is particularly why I am on board with this.
 
I wish the mj fan community would stop sabotaging every project the estate works on. It's ridiculous. For Any project to be a true success it needs a positive buzz and that starts in the fan community, but you guys kill that before it even starts, and for the most selfish and petty reasons.
With such negativity so vocally shared by the mj fan community across all corners of the internet how on earth are the mj estate supposed to continue mj legacy???? You're killing it yourselves.

I don't expect this to be a popular post but I don't care.

I've got no problems with it. Actually I think its a pretty cool idea, for kids at least. I'm just extremely disappointed as i was hoping (and expecting) the announcement to be about Thriller 3D. Especially considering John Landis himself said it would be coming out this summer only a few weeks back.

Wow... what a let down.

As others have said I'm getting less and thrilled by any releases made by the estate because they never get it even moderately right.

If they should be listening to anyone it should michaels base of fans.

Hopefully we will get something good before we're all too blinded by cataracts to even be able to see it on TV.

Jesus take the wheel.
 
I guess they should have repackaged the Thriller album again and release it.. considering how people are THIS unhappy!
 
I admit I was expecting the Thriller 3D announcement but this is a lot better than a stick of chalk or the Michael album with the fake songs. I'm not disappointed but it pisses me off some people's entitlement. That's why we can't have nice things.

Coming from someone who is excited about the Bubbles animated movie directed by Taika Waititi, a huge MJ fan.

This is pretty much me! I'm not dead set against this, it just ain't my bag. That's why I'm just meh about it. I was expecting Thriller 3D from getting caught up in the threads over the past 24 hours. I'm happy when Thriller 3D comes, plenty on here voice their opinion about the Estate not releasing post Quincy releases also.

Anyways, it is what it is. For those who are happy, excited, on board, I'm delighted for you. Personally I'm just indifferent and over my initial disappointment.
