HISTORICAL DATES


1981 - Diana 50 minutes TV special, produced by Steve Binder aired on CBS, showing combined footage from her concert along with studio footage from her show. Michael Jackson gets on stage to sing Upside Down with her at her concert and appears as the guest star on her TV special and sings Rock With you.

1984 - Michael Jackson makes his first public appearance since his head burn injury when he visits the Los Angeles zoo with Emmanuel Lewis.

2001 - The Smithsonian Institution National Portrait Gallery will be showing painted images of 75 Americans who they feel shaped our culture. Paintings of Benjamin Franklin, Mark Twain and Davy Crockett are part of the collection, along with a painting of Michael Jackson by Andy Warhol.

2002 - February will be the month of black music on VH1 (USA) featuring 113 hours of music by African American performers - on February 5th there are pop up videos by Michael Jackson as well.

2005 -Geraldo Rivera conducted an intimate and revealing interview with Michael Jackson on Jan. 19, 2005 it aired Feb. 5th. Here we see an intimate glimpse of the real man, the father, the warrior and the honest, tender heart behind the media's often extremely inaccurate and cruel portrayal. The Interview along with an interview of Katherine Jackson at Havenhurts was shown on FOX News channel.

The case against Jackson was not discussed during the interview but ended with the following Statement form Michael.

GR: Finally, we've studiously avoided the case and not talked at all about the case that's pending. You're under this gag order. I know that you have received permission from the judge to read a statement. I hate to end an interview that way, but if you'd like to read that statement now, I think it's important.

MJ: IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS, A LARGE AMOUNT OF UGLY, MALICIOUS INFORMATION HAS BEEN RELEASED INTO THE MEDIA ABOUT ME. APPARENTLY, THIS INFORMATION WAS LEAKED THROUGH TRANSCRIPTS IN A GRAND JURY PROCEEDING WHERE NEITHER MY LAWYERS NOR I EVER APPEARED. THE INFORMATION IS DISGUSTING AND FALSE.

YEARS AGO, I ALLOWED A FAMILY TO VISIT AND SPEND TIME AT NEVERLAND. NEVERLAND IS MY HOME. I ALLOWED THIS FAMILY INTO MY HOME BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME THEIR SON WAS ILL WITH CANCER AND NEEDED MY HELP.

THROUGH THE YEARS, I HAVE HELPED THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN WHO WERE ILL OR IN DISTRESS.


THESE EVENTS HAVE CAUSED A NIGHTMARE FOR MY FAMILY, MY CHILDREN AND ME. I NEVER INTEND TO PLACE MYSELF IN SO VULNERABLE A POSITION AGAIN.

I LOVE MY COMMUNITY AND I HAVE GREAT FAITH IN OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM. PLEASE KEEP AN OPEN MIND AND LET ME HAVE MY DAY IN COURT. I DESERVE A FAIR TRIAL LIKE EVERY OTHER AMERICAN CITIZEN. I WILL BE ACQUITTED AND VINDICATED WHEN THE TRUTH IS TOLD.

GR: Michael is there anything else you would like to say?

MJ: Yes. I would just like for the public to keep my family and myself in their prayers. That would be very nice. Thank you, Geraldo.

I was pleasantly surprised that Geraldo was nice to Michael and actually supported him. He could see the truth. Maybe others did too but they went along with the lies and negativity. I don't know how some people call themselves journalists and try to act like they are ethical and all that when they are not.

Oh I could not look at the whole video Qbee. How could someone talk about these topics while this horrible thing is raging. Even his face shows pain.
