is it just me or has anyone else noticed how it sounds much better then it does on the 2001 edition of the cd?

The OP is right. There is a slight difference. Not much....but there is a difference.

I compared the two earlier also.

very little differance.. But I think when we try to hear a differance, we'll hear it.. lol! It's a mental trick our brain does to us.

the 2001 Special edition has exactly the same sound as this 2008 re-release

just listen to your HIStory disc 1

most of the songs have already been digitally remastered back in 1995
(HIStory Disc 1 has 15 classics digitally remastered for the first time and its the same sound quality as today in 2008!!!!!!)

when an album is being promoted digitally remastered sound (btw, T25 was not promoted so) it does not tell you WHEN the songs actually have been remastered

and as for the complete Thriller album, those songs are all available digitally remastered since 1995/2001 (the remaining four songs that did not make HIStory Disc 1 were most likely also digitally remastered back in 1995)!

no song was re-remastered again as this would be absolutely needless *lol*

Was Thriller 25 remastered and mixed by the same person who did the SE in 2001? Did Bruce Sweiden remaster the SE in 2001 and somebody else for Thriller 25? Just curious.

I just got a new pair of $200 Sennheisers. They have great sound. I will listen tonight to hear if there is any difference.

DO IT NOW! :p

I have a nice pair of cordless headphones made by Acoustic Research with 900mhz power and I can hear a very distinct difference.

I just tested the 2001 release and then Thriller 25 and the sound is bolder and richer. I have very good hearing ability and there's no doubt there's a difference.

I tested them by Lower then Higher volume with same songs and then song after song per each CD.

I typed that I heard a difference in another post. I guess you didn't get a chance to read it.
