I think Mike should consider a sort of acoustic tour. But when I mean 'acoustic' I don't mean unplugged.
From all his performances I think Motown 25 is kinda greatest.
I still can watch is again and again.
The reasons?
Just him, the stage, no musicians, no extra dancers - pure, exicting contact with the audience.

A 'traditional' tour is also not a bad idea, but....we have seen it all - jumping, flying, special effects and I don't think that anything new can be created in that area (Bad, Dangerous and History were the same tours, U2 has been doing practically the same show since 92 as well
plus all those Timberalake, Usher etc shows are OK but not revolutionary )

I think that such concerts would bring completely new quality to the music industry.
Just imagine - medium size venue, originally designed stage, 60 up to 90 minutes, and Michael himself
That's my dream

kinda sounds like the one night only show that never happened

Why can't people just be happy that MJ wants to entertain them again. Why can't we just accept what he gives us?

i would love to see/listen to an unpluged show of michael. his is voice is zomgamaaaaazing in speachless as you can hear it a cappella so i think it would be really nice to hear some of his songs stripped down.

yeah an unplugged show has been a dream for many fans

MJ gave up singing live on most of his signature songs from '92 onwards. Only a miracle can create an acoustic show for him.

As much as I'm desperate to see one, I doubt my desperation would one day turn into reality.

Still can't see how he's gonna dance at the age of 50. No doubt, it'll put Justin to shame :)

People will be happy with whatever he gives us... Just because someone posts an idea they have doesn't mean they're unhappy. You do this every time someone posts an idea or want. Why is it such a bad thing to express what you'd love to see Michael do???

People do this every day... It doesn't make them any less of a fan because of it.

Maybe not a tour. But a one night only show. That would be awesome. Fans have been saying for years something like an unplugged show should happen.

Well ,if there were no musicians behin him i would say it is not "acoustic" , and are you sure Motown 25 was "live" and not "lip-synch" , i know billy-jean was lip-synched because of the dance part , but with his brothers i cannot say .

To do an acoustic concert one need musicians behin , yeah i would love michael doing an accoustic concert but in smaller places and not in stadiums , in smaller places michael could be more in touch with the public , with us and besides the sound would be better but we all know michael doesn't want to do concerts in smaller places , it seems he considers that as regression and not an evolution as you know he said 1 month ago that he was not enthusiastic for the O2 project because he loves spectacular , besdides there are chairs in the 02 and he doesn't like chairs he likes stadiums like in Europe .

I can't see mj ever doing anything live agian. I cant remeber hearing him sing live in years. He should have done a tour like this in the bad era... Thats when his live voice was at its best in my opinion

To the poster's who say Michael can't sing live any more - step off. I'm a bit tired of having to read and fend off all of the bullshit statements that make their way on to this forum. And no, before anyone says it, it isn't a matter of opinion. Either someone can sing or they can't, and MJ CAN SING. Yes, he has lip synched alot - overall I hate it, but it's all about the dance in these cases. I would love to see an unplugged show, and a show like this would go off in terms of showcasing his vocals. Alot of his songs would need to re-interpreted though to go this way, but that would be great. I really, really wish we could get this kind of a show, and not the pyrotechnics shows that he pioneered and that every one is copying now.

Won't happen. MJ is not this type of artist. He doesn't want to sing live, he doesn't want to do a show without dancing, and all the concerts he's done have been very well choreographed and distant, so I don't see him doing something with an intimate setting.

I agree with last unicorn, Michael is more sophisticated, he won’t settle for just a quite and calm type of show, he likes to thriller his audience, his songs they have a specific theme and signature moves they need special effects. If he decided to do a show such as Unplugged I think it may sound like a downgrade for him because he is a showstopper and will go beyond the expectations as per his slogan. I think MJ at 50 can do a tour, he is not too old, I think he’ve been taking care of himself, and if he doesn’t tour I will settle for anything I can get from him, most importantly he doesn’t risk his health at any cost. I don’t like it when passion turns into greed. So my point that I highly doubt it and I think it is too early however it is better than nothing.

I’m not sure if this is fully correct but it makes some sense:
Some artists switch between live singing and lip-synching during performance, particularly during songs which require them to hit particularly high or low notes. Lip-synching these notes ensures that they will not be out of tune and that the artist will not strain their voice too much during an arduous concert. Once the difficult portion of the song has passed, the artist may continue to lip-synch or may resume singing live.

Yup I agree. I don't think he should do an entire tour like that but I think if he did a one night only special like an MTV "Unplugged" or something that would kick major @$$! I know it will probably never happen though, but it would be incredible if it did and something totally unexpected from an artist like MJ. I hope he considers doing this one day.

That makes sense to me too. I've said I don't like it, but I can see the reasons. Using YANA as an example of no dancing, but lip synching is not really justifiable. The dance with the YANA girl is physically demanding and completely unpredictable. It depends on the girls' reaction, which sometimes is completely OTT and I'm surprised MJ stays in one piece. Also please check the set list for the History tour prior to YANA - loads of dancing and not much rest. Also, most importantly, go to Youtube and look for the end of YANA. It is live, it is not lip-synched and it sounds pitch perfect. :punk:
