I believe he/she was making a COMPARISON between MJ and Janet. Since many on here choose to tease Janet for her lackluster success these past few years.

be going on tour. In fact many people were sitting back waiting for a disaster so they could find another reason to joke about michael. many even secretly thought the incident that occurred on June 25 was a stunt and michael trying to get out of performing.

Now, if you want to start comparing albums. Go back to blood on the dance floor, and invincible, neither came near selling the numbers michael is pulling today. let compare apples to apples. you cannot compare michael's sales before his death to after his death.

Again Janet is Janet but some michael fans hate on her for no logical reason, when they'd never say such things in front of michael. You all know he'd defend her success to no end. And you all have the nerve to call yourself Michael's fans when you take every chance you get to rip the life out of his dear sister.

OK...Michael Jackson is NOT God...and I don't think anybody here is acting like he is, thats one. two, the LOVE for Michael has ALWAYS been there, it was his FANS that bought those tickets that made those shows sell out in hours, and it's those same FANS that are pouring all of this love out towards Mike now and nobody else. The people who were NOT there for Mike before he died and wanted to see him fail were the MEDIA and people who never cared for him to begin with...and they haven't changed their feelings. When you say "this outpouring all happened when Michael died" I gotta disagree. You talk as if he JUST got these fans when most of them have always been there. And about his sales, His catalouge has always sold well, 6 million albums sold in 2008, and 4 million in 2007...two years in which he did absolutley NOTHING.

As for Janet, most if not all MJ fans can stomach Janet as an artist just fine, I for one am not a superfan but I think she's cool. If there are people on here who don't share that sentiment then oh well. I wouldn't call them out I'd ignore them, because believe it or not, there are plenty of JJ fans that talk just as much shit about MJ and that show just as much hate towards him for "no logically reaseon" as well, it's not right, but it most deffinitly goes BOTH WAYS.

P.S. You want to point out the fact that the last two albums MJ released didn't do as well as some of his earlier work? well you can do the same with all three of JJ's last albums...

she was on the X Factor? i didn't know that. she went major with promotion. Michael never appeared on an X Factor or Idol type show.

Michael was always kicking UK chart ass. even the usa always said, he's loved more overseas than in the usa. although two mill in the usa is not bad at all.

can "stomach janet as an artist" wow. deep. nice choice of words. sounds like you're talking about the swine flu. well you supposed MJ fans must have been sleeping because you certainly weren't helping him sell these types of numbers before in a very very long time. this thing you got seems to be contagious.
 
Well considering that Janet's greatest hits album has already outsold "Discipline" and "20 Y.O." in the UK, I'd say it's doing well. Take into account that while Janet had some success interntionally in the 90's, she's never been that huge worldwide so I wasn't expecting big numbers really. Greatest hits albums don't even sell that well anymore (there are a few exceptions), but they don't sell that well anymore. It's not as though it was a new album anyway. I wasn't expecting huge sales or anything. I think Janet's doing just fine.

STOP COMPARING JANET'S SUCCESS TO MICHAEL'S SUCCESS!! Thats the problem people are having...THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT ARTIST that have paved their OWN paths in the music industry...YOU CAN'T COMPARE THEM!!!

Janet is a VERY SUCCESSFUL female artist and she has influenced many of today's artist...to try to take anything from her is just plain STUPID. Imagine how HARD it was for her to break away from the family and OUT of Michael's shadow and even have any type of career in music...that alone is a great accomplishment

Michael always sold in the millions regardless. You need to look up MJ's stats. He's never truly had a flop album, bottom line. Michael's lowest selling album is equal to some artists highest selling albums. Don't even bring Michael into it though. This thread is about Janet, so don't even go there about Michael.

First of all, I didn't even read through this thread beyond the first page so I don't know about any comparisons. I just think it doesn't say much for Janet or her fans that they always need to compare her to Michael. It's really stupid and ridiculous. I know some MJ fans are doing this too and I think it's ridiculous as well, but i'm just saying your statement about Michael is false.

Show me all these flop albums MJ has had though? You're saying MJ fans didn't support him (LMAO please) and he flopped so lets see the proof.

compared to Thriller, and Bad, technically they were FLOPS (even though i enjoy everyone of them)

And if you take those same numbers and hypothetically put them in janet's column and then compare Janet to Mike you'd call Janet a FLOP. BYE BOO .

MIchael couldn't go outside without being mobbed by Tsunami like loving fans, in america and overseas. remember the press conference? and his appearance at a theatre in london? he couldn't walk the streets. no other artist is experiencing that, and Invincible went to number 1. it seems like you are the only one on the attack, as usual. your envy sounds like the media that also envied him. that's why they attacked him.

Don't forget "Thriller 25" sold 3 million+ while MJ was alive and "Number One's" went multi-platinum and all this was when MJ was alive. Michael doesn't have these flops you speak of Charismatic.

Trueopian, I am not a Janet stan like you so forgive me if I don't know her interntaional numbers. I do know she's much bigger in America than worldwide though, but If you'd care to share what her worldwide sales are, then i'm willing to listen.

well, see it appears you all are comparing janet's success by individual albums while with michael you look at his overall success which would include thriller. that is not fair and you know it. CHECKMATE!!

ok Thriller 82---- 100 million. Thriller 25- 3 millions. if you compare michael to michael, i'd say it was a FLOP. And if you cared to do some research about Janet versus pulling stuff out your bottom you'd know Janet is an international star in her own right. bless your soul boo. you see I'm a fan equally of both janet and michael's so i speak with little more objectivity. You can't handle this!
