Its NOT him. Nothing in the way this singer phrases anything in this song sounds like Michael. The people who think this is Mike are the equivalent of those terrible singers who audition for idol and think they sound brilliant.

I think too many people are letting their hatred for Sony overcome them - and it's always the same, rude, people trying to impose their agendas on everyone else.

If anybody is trying to suggest than 'Breaking News' doesn't contain ANY of Michael's vocals - then i really don't know what to say to them, as they are beyond reason.

How much of this song is Michael's vocals might be up for discussion, but he is on this track - and that is good enough for me.

I respect (some of you might want to look up that word) Teddy Riley, who worked with MJ for many years, and if he says Michael's vision and work are upheld on this track, then that is alos enough for me.

The trouble with this forum, as well as other MJ forums, is that there is too much hate these days. Unfortunately, it seems, the ones with 'hate' in their agenda are the loudest and most prolific with their posts.

I think the years of media hatred has finally taken over some of the, so-called, 'fans'. Michael was all about 'L.O.V.E' but, unfortunately, this message has now become lost with quite a few since he sadly passed away.

If you're looking down Michael, I, for one, am truly sorry for this.

Omg, I've listened to this for the 5th time and am still hearing michael.
I'm hearing his grit, and and hearing his smooth harmonies in the chorus.
Plus, the song is very Michael, the beat and the lyrics were clearly written by himself.

You can normally tell a fake song (thats normally on youtube) a mile away, and this isn't it.
Its defo Michael.

Well looks like its just me and you and a couple of others, I totally believe this is Michael, its a new sound new era, get real people, your all stuck in the 90's and early 00's. I'm really happy with the brand new stuff, looking forward to the album.

Actually come to think of it, there's something very strange going on here... Let's just say if this is or isn't Michael (which I believe it's not him) Why would sony choose out of god knows how many songs to play one that would leave to wonder... I mean "Do You Know Where Your Children Are?" no one on the planet can argue this is Michael, pure and simple, just the first note and it was done for me, exactly like "This Is It"... when you know that we are living in a world where everything is messed in regards to MJ since his passing, and you know everyone is on the verge of questioning the authenticity of his new music, why would you release a song that is questionable wheter it is him or not??? I find that very unusal... there is something big behind this... but what??

Sony Music says it's Michael Jackson singing in Breaking News

Michaelmania's president just had a phone conversation with Sony Music Italy and they said it's Michael Jackson singing in Breaking News. They have no more to say at the moment. They say it's science-fiction that a company starts looking for a replacement (someone singing instead of MJ). They'll try to convince the sceptical ones but there's little they can do.

The point is my first reaction is not to shout 'conspiracy' because to me most conspiracy theories are exposed as ridiculous after a while. The main points as I see them support the idea that its MJ.

1) I like the song and on first reaction think its Michael Jackson

2) Teddy Riley who produced the track says its Michael Jackson

3) It is on MichaelJackson.com as a new MJ track

4) Cascio says its Michael Jackson and saw him record it

5) If Sony put out a track claiming to be MJ without MJ they would be liable

6) MJ recorded hundreds of tracks so Sony has no reason to take a risk and be sued.

7) Sony has already said that some tracks have been 'brought to fruition' that clearly suggests an uncompleted track that has been worked on

Now people can dispute those points as they like but they can not conclusively disprove them. i will go by my ears and my understanding of the points raised and other people are welcome to do the same. The key thing here is not to suggest that anyone is wrong just because they believe something different.

Yes! That's exactly what I thought... I think you've hit the nail on the head there because I kept thinking how the backing vocals really sound like Michael and the majority of the adlibs do too but near the end when usually Michael's adlibs would take over the song, the backing vocals are much louder than they should be. Why would they do that? Perhaps to hide the fact they've taken adlibs from other songs.

I think Michael was working on this, therefore some of it's him but some of it's Jason Malachi so if they do get a voice expert in they will probably say it's Michael and Sony will have made us and the family look stupid.... again!!

At this point all I ask is people to be calm, yes I fully understand emotions are running high and we will of course take that into consideration.

Lets see what they have to say later.

At the end of the day we are ALL fans, we all have opinions but that by no means makes any of us right.

Gaz ... are you able to express the concern that we share with the Jacksons that (the Jacksons know their own blood and Michaels voice and so do most fans) that these Cascio tracks are fake. These appear to be the only tracks the Jackson and Michaels own children are disputing and based on Breaking News they are 100% justified in their concern.

There is no reason to include tracks that are so dubious when scores of other exist.

if you question the validity of a professional photo you can ask the photographer for more pictures from that photo shoot. If it is authentic the photographer will turn over different shots. Some with different poses, some even with eyes closed. They claim my uncle was so happy with the performance he instructed them to delete all the other files. I had the honor to learn and watch my uncle record my entire life and that is not how he worked. No outtakes, no other tracks, no backups, no proof. I've been a MJ fan for over 23 years. I've been listening to Michael practically every day! So as many seasoned fans here, I think we can judge if it's Michael's voice or not.

HOWEVER, before judging if it's Michael or not I would be really, really careful, because if there is one thing I've learnt throughout all these years about Michael's music, is that Michael was always full of surprises and always tried to be different from what he had done before.

Many theories are possible, and among one of them is that Michael could have followed the tendency of changing voice pitches in order not to sound as he usually sounds in his previous songs.

Now put songs such as:

"One day in your life" and "Privacy" can you really, really, objectively tell it's the same person singing it?

Let's give ourselves, and SONY the time and listen over and over again. Only then we will see if it's Michael or not.

When I first heard "2000 Watts" I thought Michael was singing a duet with another singer and was expecting to hear Michael in the song. Only after the song was finished I realized that it was Michael all along, different from what he had done before, but still it was him.

"Breaking News" could be also different from the rest, special, Michaelish but unMichael, yet maybe it was intended by Michael!
