Michael Jackson's Impersonator? Anyone?

It was Mike in Remember the Time not an impersonator, where did get that from? Stop spreding rumors for God sake, we have already enough. And i have to agree with the previous post regarding the impersonators thing. I don't like them very much

Beautiful post, thank you very much for writing it. :)

I do not like the fact that they make money using mj either and since you seem to know what you are talking about, i wanted to ask you (and all the members) a question. Can someone actually only be an impersonator and earn enough money each month to survive or do they have to have other jobs as well ? How much do the most successful mj impersonators earn ? (ok i know you cannot answer the last question but i did wanna try lol)

An impersonator would have to answer your questions. But the way I see it (and this is my view, my opinion) is that they most likely made a lot of money (few thousand euro's per gig maybe?) when Michael was at the height of his fame. However when things got more 'quiet' around Michael for the general public (2000-2009 for example, as he was not touring, not releasing much) I'm sure nobody was willing to pay that much to see someone copying someone else.

But after June 2009, there was a hype around Michael and there was a big demand for impersonators worldwide. Everywhere I went there was someone onstage impersonating. Their prices went up and they were (are?) making a lot of money. Even a whole bunch of 'new' impersonators came outta nowhere.

Wahey! Let's cash in on Michael's death instead of getting a real job! :D

Got it from "Off the wall" magazine or "King" magazine, I cannot remember which.

I am not interested in spreding rumours, and it hurts me you feel that, that was my intention.

You didn't hurt my feelings at all, don't worry. But i don't like to read things that are not true. It was Mike in the video which was released in 1992. Mike injured his leg in 1993 in some awards. He couldn't dance so he had to perform in a chair.

^^^^ well actually I said YOU hurted MY feelings, but lets not dwell on that

Back on subject:

who are your favourite Michael Jackson Impersonaters - and are there any among us

There ain't many good impersonators out there. But the best ones are always greatly underrated while the crap ones get loads of recognition, like Navi (no offence, but u suck)
I live in the same town as one, his name is Rory J and he is pretty good, though still not the best.
From a moves and manorisms pov, there ain't many better that Australian impersonator Paul Rizzo, yet no one really knows of him. As for "sound-a-likes" i'm yet to hear one who is even halfway there.

Er, ur wrong. Its only for a brief second, but E'casanova IS in the Remember the time video. The part of the dance where he spins down onto his front, lifts up and flicks back his head, during the filming, or maybe the rehearsals, mike face planted the floor and had a nose bleed, so e'cas came in to film that one move. Also, in the Who is it video, its E'cas in the limo, not michael, and on the airoplane. Because Mike had to start the Dangerous tour before these shots were complete.

*Has visions of Michael 'face planting' the floor* :toofunny:

Are you talking about the part at 7:14? I refuse to believe that's E'Cas.......

No offence but whether u believe it or not doesn't make it any less true =P Like was said earlier. I was in King magazine and everything. It thought i was common knowledge among fans, guess not.

None taken ;)

However it must be a part where they don't show the face....because to me, E Cas' face really does NOT look like Michael that much. Except on his photoshopped pics. lol

And this fella is an impersonator but doesn't get the meaning of "Beat It'....lol.

I have to add I understand he's angry, the guy who filmed this is a retard and I woulda punched the fucker in the face myself, but if you're going to be a Michael impersonator, make sure you know how to act which is RISE ABOVE IT AND WALK AWAY, dumbass.

Yeah, it is at the point where he flicks his head back whilst lay face down. And in who is it, its e'cas in the limo, and on the plane at the end. u can clearly see its not MJ in the who is it vid.

And yeah, that guy fails to understand, well, anything based on that video, lol

I saw that video ages ago. And if he cares about Michael as much as we on this forum do, I can understand why he didn't just walk away, even though he should have. The guy filming is a notorious douche when it comes to Michael Jackson.

Thanks for discussing here. I m really appreciated it. For the question regarding to career, i myself an imper. but i cannot make a living from it. i work as a banker and in my country, they dont pay much for impersonators :(

Who was the impersonator for the Game? Is he well known or what?

Often the ones that make fun of Michael in the way he does are the dumbest people on the planet. I feel sorry for the man, but I still would punch him in the face. ;) The impersonator was out of line for going at him in his MJ attire though.....thats the point sometimes they dont realize they are representing MJ when they put on the suits and wear the makeup. So by all means; BEHAVE. When you take it off you can be who you wanna be. lol

yeah, i meant the fat guy don't understand. I would have done the same thing the impersonator did, probably a LOT sooner too. I'm sick of these kinda close minded, ignorant fools thinking they have the right to just come up to me and spout their opinion like it bares any relevance to my life.

I have not seen an impersonator that has truly impressed me with the dance of Michael..

VISUALLY: E' Casanova 100% the most similar appearance
VOCALLY: there are a couple who pull off a sound a like.. Not any that are truly famous though

When I watch MJ impersonators when it comes to dance.. each has a specific set moves they do a lot like Michael then the rest are not at all Michael.. details are left out that bring MJ to it..

I wouldn't be watching impersonators for the dance because they would teach you the WRONG way to do it.. watch the KING himself..

I personally have been dancing since I was 3.. LOVE to dance.. I'm not saying I'm the greatest, I'm not one to have an ego like that but if there are any pointers or anything you are struggling with PM me and I'll help out in the best of my ability.. I've studied the art..

Hope u can have a better view on MJ impersonator after watch those vids :)

Why would watching a video change our view on impersonators?
For me personally, my opinion is based on personal experience and watching a video or two will not change that. Having personally interacted with (an) impersonator(s) has influenced me in a negative way and I do not approve of them, nor like them. Simple.

I don't like impersonator's at all. They look ridiculous with that all the make-up on & those awful wigs.:puke:

If they want to do something to honor Michael, dance a real tribute! Let Michael be an inspiration and create something your own.

But hey, that just me:)

Just to let you know impersonators in general dont make a "living" out of being an impersonator. They have real jobs and lifes outside of being an MJ impersonator and do it on the side.. Some have flexable jobs where they can leave time to time for events etc.. But they are not performing often enough to LIVE off of it. So I would not plan on doing that unless you are moving to Vegas and doing an MJ act there.. But even that is seasonal!

I actually remember reading something similar myself. I was sure it was the birds eye shot of just the head during the chorus and also some of the scenes around that segment.

i dont like impersonaters, especially when they do plastic surgery to look like michael, i found that very disturbing. its nice to honor michael and dance like him, but dont make your face like michaels face....
be yourself and then dance like michael or sing a michael song, and especially dont act like you are michael immitating his voice etc..

They say you wouldn't want to meet so-and-so in a dark alley but I wouldn't even care to meet an MJ impersonator in broad daylight.

That's the word "BEHAVE"... I love MJ impersonators... Well, one 'healed' me but indeed they 'forget' to "behave" sometimes... They do have an "impossible" task to be like Michael when they are 'dressed' up like him and the 'trap' is your mind is fooled its Michael... but they are still 'pricks' when they take it off though :(
There will be ONLY ONE Michael though... Gone much too soon ':(
