Thank you for posting the update. With respect to Jermaine's statement, perhaps he is just upset and didn't realize. This is probably a very hard day for the family. Something about the sentencing makes all of this very final. That is very hard to swallow right now. I can't even imagine how they feel. I know how we feel and it hurts deeply. So can you imagine what the family is feeling?

People need to stop thinking of Michael Jackson's death as an "addict" case and as a CRIMINAL case! CM subjected him, without consent...

Conrad Murray did not "prescribe" anything incorrectly. He just took forth the effort to do all harm to Michael Jackson HANDS ON.

Conrad Murray administered drugs--he personally injected substances into MJ's veins likely at times without him even KNOWING!

Dr. Murray has just received four years for his involvement in the death of Michael Jackson. He will also have to pay substantial restitution to the young family and estate of the late singer. During the weeks of the trial and the utterly tasteless documentary in which he later participated, the doctor expressed no remorse for his patient's death and attempted to blame his client and others instead for his passing. This was of concern to many people as his total lack of empathy for his victim was considered contrary to the normal doctor-patient relationship.
At times, especially during the post trial documentary , Murray's self-serving behaviour, his grandiose sense of self, his pathological lying, as well as his lack of remorse shame or guilt caused many commentators to feel that the doctor displayed possible sociopathic type tendencies.
I felt Judge Pastor gave the appropriate sentence with a sense of fairness and decency. He said "There are those who feel Dr. Murray is a saint," "There are those who feel Dr. Murray is the devil. He's neither. He's a human being. He stands convicted of the death of another human being'. These words were indeed profound and gave a great sense of humanity to the proceedings. The amount of money that Dr. Murray has to pay Michael's young family and his estate means he is very unlikely to profit in the future from book sales etc. The Judge reminded everyone that Murray worked as a doctor for 20 years, with "no prior contacts with the law," and many of his patients were elderly in low-income, under-served communities. It does seems reasonable that the transgression for which he is to be judged should be viewed within the context of the larger life of which it is a part. .
The judge also said that while he had considered the entire "book" of Murray's life, he also had "read the book of Michael Jackson's life." "Regrettably, as far as Dr. Murray is concerned, the most significant chapter, as it relates to this case, is the chapter involving the treatment, or lack of treatment, of Michael Jackson." and those words summed up the reality of the situation. Whatever justice Michael may have now legally, this sad episode will never bring him back and the world will have to get used to a world without him. He will be forever remembered in his musical legacy and as I sit here writing this comment in Ailesbury, at times I think I can hear his gentle laughter still in the air. 'Treacy, I don't know whether you're trying to wind me up or not'
Alas, poor Michael, until we all meet again....

I think Jermaine is simply saying what we've ALL said Murray should be receiving more time. We ALL know he can't legally receive more time because he was convicted of Involuntary Manslaughter and not a more "severe" charge...that doesn't change most of our opinions though that Murray SHOULD be getting more time.
"DR. MURRAY'S LAWYER - The Documentary Was a Mistake
Conrad Murray's lawyer J. Michael Flanagan admits the decision to do a tell-all behind-the-scenes documentary was "probably a mistake" ... but tells "TMZ Live" the Doc really needed the money. "

Oh really, I thought he didnt made one dime from this? They have lied so much they forgot that theyve said noone was paid for the documentary
I'm not one to defend the family and I share the sentiments of everyone here re: the statement read by that lawyer they chose to represent them ( not being able to perform with him again? That was a major  ) ,but in the case of Jermaine and that article,I understood his words were only that "it wasn't enough time".I believe the statement about the judge being lenient is maybe an addition by the reporter?

STATEMENT BY REV. AL SHARPTON REGARDING THE SENTENCING OF DR. CONRAD MURRAY
The sentencing of Dr. Conrad Murray to four years in prison by no means ends the injustice suffered by Michael Jackson nor does it in any way mitigate the fact that his children have lost a father and the Jacksons have lost a son for the rest of their life. While I approve that the Judge gave the highest sentence permitted by law and that he used harsh language in condemning Dr. Murray's recklessness, the sentence is light compared to the damage Dr. Murray and those that may have participated (and went unpunished) have received in relation to the damages they have done. For those of us who knew Michael and loved him this is not a day of celebration. It is a day of continued pain because of the loss of a great artist and friend. I do hope it sends a signal to those that would prostitute their professional skills for money and pleasure while violating the oath of their profession.

Jermaine and many in that family are hypocrites. This is the same fool that said that Murray was only being target because he was black and called him the fall guy several times.
I find it funny that on one hand the family complained about Murray getting a light sentence and should served the max in the same breath they call him the fall guy, others were in the room, AEG pressured him, ect.
Jermaine is talking out both ends of his butt.
just showed the sherrif's bus getting driving out assume convict conrat was in there.
Do we have a link for the full sentencing video?

Erin Jacobs let Flanigan (or whatever his stupid spelling is) have it on the 9th floor and then I actually let him have it as he left the building. It was a two year build up of screaming and booing directed at the defense......i feel good nowand we all gave Walgren a round of applause as he left.....great moment. Justice.......MC-

oh btw did any of u notice how Murray was caught off guard when Judge Pastor described him as being ''dangerous'' there was a moment when Murray stared at the judge in what it seemed like disbelief.
