Totally agree big apple. Don't know why this thread introduced the sun story by just posting the link. There was no cut and paste with the link, no summary of what was said with the link, so if any of us wanted to know what was going on we're going to have to click on it. Either the forum decides to censor it completely or it's posted in full - i don't understand this compromise if that's what it was. Agree with qbee that we shouldn't be encouraging hits to this stupid story.

I'm tempted with justnat to just ignore the likes of fiddis and not engage with such blatant f**kery but the sun is uk's biggest tab and it's stories get picked up and sure enough the daily mail, one of the biggest global online news sites has rerun it today. MJJC gets alot of traffic so i would have thought it could be used as a rebuttal unit for these type of occasions rather than decide to ignore stuff like this eg in this case a cut and paste plus the link to ettubrutus as qbee and moonwalker fan have done. Then fans who don't have all the facts can use it when discussing mj, online or whereever. If a lie is repeated often enough, it becomes the truth.

The most sinister thing about this whole affair isn't fiddis who's just a mentally challenged fame whore, but is how the media is prepared to give him airtime knowing his stories are garbage even when they're seriously offensive to mj's children. The jacksons offer up the chlddren to the media but it hasn't made any difference - the media still wants blood.

I was quite happy to see that this rubbish story stayed this side of the pond, but it has been picked by some big networks over states side, e.g. Fox news :angry:
It seems that story got wings when he attached Whitney Houston's name to his bs.
Seriously, how hard it is from someone from Jackson camp or Michael's friend to call out this bull crap, or at least issue some sort of a statement that Fiddler is mentally ill person?

I was the one who posted this story, but I DID NOT post just the link. I posted the whole story in writing, with a link at the bottom of it. There was really no need for anyone to click on the link.

Ugh, I just saw this ridiculous story on my local ABC mid-evening newscast. It's becoming increasingly more difficult to ignore this buffoon. They didn't even say his name, just Michael Jackson's former British bodyguard.

^ The Tabloids are everywhere now. Even in are mainstream news and has been for awhile. It's shameful. Everyone and anyone can get their 15mins. This guy Fiddes is a joke & smart people will see right through him. Those who don't I feel sorry for. And I call them SHEEP!

Barking up the wrong tree. No sane person should relish one iota of this. Just sick of the media pulling this crap over and over, especially during sweeps. Not only with MJ, but other public figures too.

It seems this story is now getting more attention, especially since it involves negative Michael lies. It is so tiring, and now this Libarachie lover thing--these fanfictions.

I think since these stories will continue in the future we need to have a protocol of how to handle them. Should we post all tabloid Michael stories and complain; should we ignore; or should we send facts out to the appropriate networks that the interviewee is using? Since this guy is now being reported on Fox, should we send some facts to them?

You don't give anybody ratings by simply watching TV if your home is not equipped with the Nielsen box. On the other hand, clicking on the link does give the tabloid website its "ratings".
That said, I am going to pass on tomorrow's ET.

Tonite is the first i heard of this guy. He is putting himself out there to cash in on the up coming movie. It was so easy to dismiss him as desperate, embellishing his story to attract a publisher for his 2d book.

ET is pretty much the silliest show any where on tv, with zero ratings.

HUH?! Um...when u are alive u can sue for defamation, when u are dead u can not. Because there is no defamation law for the dead. So that is what I am talking about! I'm sure u knew that though!

I get that it wouldn't stop people from talkin trash either way. But, atleast it would make it a lil harder for them to think they can get away with this constant crap. Cause I doubt they would want a lawsuit on their hands!

No. The Big Brother, of course, is watching us, but not to this extent :) Look at Nielsen ratings to understand how it works. I don't know the system in Australia but it is probably similar.
