She mentioned Michael's drug use is exaggerated at least twice.
Is their tactic going to be that Michael was ok before AEG got into picture, they made Michael to take those meds that Murray gave him?

Yes that's exactly what I meant, I was having a guess at AEG's defence. :) We have had the family talk abt interventions (all before 2008/9) and KJ on Oprah didn't deny his so-called addictions, and yet last night she was playing it down.

And therein lies the problem with ALL of their interviews to date.

Everybody saying something different, including Janet talking about "leading a horse to water" or whatever, along with her partner in crime, Tyler Perry, talking about stuff as if he KNEW first hand what was going on in Michael's life. Sorry, I digress. LOL!

Back to all of their interviews. Not only did they all basically say something different, some of them have changed their stories, in order to further their own agenda's.

On a more serious tip, did they not think ALL of those interviews would not come back to bite them on their butts.

It's clear now why AEG has requested a deposition from dang near every member of Michael's immediate family. Now they will have to answer some of those same questions, only difference will be this time it will be UNDER OATH.

Totally true. when it suited the families agenda they called him an addict. now those words will be used against them in this lawsuit they are changing their tune because it will damage their claims of mj was ok before AEG brought murray in. it would be laughable if it wasnt so pathetic. the family have given AEG their defence. and in the end mj will be torn to shreds as the media have a field day with AEG'sdefence and the previous claims made by the family. this trial will hurt mj 100 times more than anything said in the criminal trial and the sickening thing is this is only happening because the jacksons need money and they dont care about how mj and the kids will be hurt. yet again mj is used and abused for the good of the rest of the family. i hope this trial is delayed forever

I don't know elusive. I'm THINKING that the family will be the ones who are ripped to shreds.

The curtain that hides their "We are a big HAPPY family - all of the time," will be ripped off for all to see.

It will also be very, very embarrassing for "some" of them, when AEG points out how they have contradicted themselves over and over again. In some instances, straight-up lied, in order to earn a few dollars, by embellishing the truth!

I imagine the aeg defence is that there is no case, that there is no evidence that they could have known mj was doing what he was doing every night with murray and that their actions in involving him in a concert tour was exactly what his own family had been trying to do for the past few years.

Interesting that mrs j in the piers interview was saying she was busy telling mj not to do 50 dates on tour, but she made out that they were all on alternate days, but dileo got that changed to two a week, with a break in the middle so that's just a non-issue.

This family... errr they will say whatever to fit their agenda. Before they called mj a addict and they tried so much to save him to make it the reason Michael cut them off. It's all about make the family look good. Now with the AEG lawsuit, Katherine changed and said Michael was not a addict. Whenever she saw him, he was always himself. I saw her latest interview and she seemed to start defending Michael's so called drug use, twice in her new cnn interview. what made her suddenly changed.
For this lawsuit, i dont care who win, but i am sure whatever the outcome, it is always on michael's expense. Poor michael will be drag into the mud over and over again. Sad

So true.it says alot when a mother is prepared to do this to a son in order to get money and doesnt care about how he and kids will be hurt.

Yes it was delayed as well but the judge did not give a date for it during the hearing.

If you remember Katherine's lawyers had asked the judge even he delays the trial not to delay the summary judgement date (which was end of May). By Anthony's tweet it seems like the judge delayed everything including the summary judgement. so he again granted AEG's request.

the delaying of the summary judgement kinda confuses me. as in one sense wouldnt you want that not to be delayed so the judge could throw it out in may or is it a case of AEG want that delayed because you only get one chance at getting a summery judgement so it gives AEG more time to create an argument presuming katherine keeps not cooperating interms of handing over docs etc? obviously if katherines side now start to comply that damages AEG chances of getting the case thrown out later on

AEg wants it delayed so that the can prepare a better argument. they say that as they didn't get any response to their discovery requests till April 23 and they were only able to depose 2 siblings and Katherine, they aren't ready.

I'll have more information in tonight's update.

Attorneys for AEG Live on Tuesday won a delay until next year for the start date of the trial of Katherine Jackson's lawsuit accusing the entertainment conglomerate of negligently hiring Dr. Conrad Murray to care for her late son.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos ruled there was good reason to postpone trial from Sept. 10 until April 2 because of AEG Live's challenge in obtaining all the information it needs from the opposing side to prepare a proper defense.

Lawyers for AEG Live filed paperwork with Palazuelos last week stating that the size of the litigation and a number of procedural issues have slowed the progress of the case. The documents also state that new information shows Michael Jackson had a history of drug abuse that began long before the singer met Murray.

Katherine Jackson's lawyers stated in their court papers that the lawsuit under law is on a priority list for trial because one of the late entertainer's two sons is under age 14.

"Here, it is indisputable that (Prince Michael Jackson II), born Feb. 21, 2002, and having suffered the tragic loss of his father, meets those requirements,'' according to the Jackson lawyers' court papers.

After Tuesday's hearing, Jackson family attorney Kevin Boyle said he will weigh the option of filing a motion for a priority trial date because of the Jackson boy's age. But he also said the new trial date may actually help his clients.

"The way we keep obtaining more information, it might be beneficial,'' he said.

AEG Live attorney Marvin Putnam — who has called the Jackson case a "shakedown'' of his clients — said even if Boyle files a motion for a priority trial date, the soonest it could be set is six months from the Sept. 10 date and nine months at the latest.

In additional court papers filed Monday, AEG Live attorneys state that deposition testimony from Katherine Jackson and two of her children revealed that Michael Jackson "had a decades-long history of severe substance abuse, including an addiction to prescription painkillers and repeated interventions.''

The information contradicts the Jackson family's claims that AEG Live "somehow forced Mr. Jackson to receive dangerous medication from his physician,'' according to the AEG Live court papers.

The more information that is obtained from the Jacksons increases the likelihood that it will "further undermine their case,'' the AEG Live court papers state.

Jackson was set to perform a string of 50 shows in London for AEG Live, but he died June 25, 2009, of acute propofol intoxication in Los Angeles while rehearsing for the concert series.

The negligence suit was filed in September 2010 by Katherine Jackson on behalf of herself and her son's three children, Michael Jr., Paris-Michael Katherine and Prince Michael, alleging the company was negligent in hiring Murray.

The complaint also alleges AEG Live is responsible for the medical decisions made by Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death and was sentenced Nov. 29 to four years in prison.

Dem Jackson's are something else!

But wait a minute, didn't "Mother" say something completely different in her recent interview with Piers Morgan. Although I didn't see the interview, I read some of the highlights and it seemed to contradict the above. Or did I misunderstand her comments on Piers Morgan?

she said michael's drug use was exaggerated. It doesn't change the fact that multiple Jacksons mentioned multiple interventions.

if anything it would bring credibility issues if they keep switching their stories.

Yes, that's what I was thinking also, i.e. credibility.

Also what is the logic of them saying that Michael had this huge drug problem for decades? Doesn't that truly undermine their case. I figured that they would say that Michael had no problems until he hooked up with AEG (aside from the problem we all know he had in the past).

You know like, "Michael was fine, AEG got him hooked on drugs."

I don't understand the logic of their "so-called" defense, i.e. Michael had problems for years and years and years. What's the point in that?

Which grown kids did they speak to?

and they are undermining their own case.. :doh: They will lose and Murray will be free by the time the case goes to trial... This was just stupid!

The only name I read so far was Tito Jackson. As per one of ivy's updates, Tito Jackson had completed his deposition.

Then I guess would be Katherine Jackson. I have no idea who the third relative is.

Yep, Murray The Murderer will be out of jail, earning all of the money that the Jacksons "thought" they would have earned by filing this suit against AEG. He will be laughing all the way to the bank, while they continue to come up with quick money making schemes.

It's insane, you can't make this stuff up!

Have Michael ever been treated as a human being with respect. Oh god! So AEG went to murray's defense road, calling Michael a long time druggie. thanks to the Jacksons! The history will remember Michael Jackson as the long time druggie and his children are better off now.

Oh, this isn't good. AEG aren't going to exploit the contradictions amongst all the jackson stories - all their tab stories of drug interventions whilst all the time attempting to get mj to tour with them and the lack of contact they had with him and knowledge of his life. They're just going to throw mj under the bus like the jacksons and declare him a decades long drug addict. I wish this case would disappear. It's just going to cement mj in the public mind as a drug addict whose death was inevitable. A case whose huge legal costs are going to have to be paid by mj's estate.

I wonder who the other sibling was, besides tito, prob randy.

Although I'm not surprised, or shouldn't be surprised anyway.

I am nonetheless shocked that in their quest to earn as much money as possible, they have no problem throwing their dearly departed under the bus.

It's like "yeah we loved him, but we love money more." It's all very upsetting, especially since it's coming from his own family.

I find that rather funny as they are the reason for delay. Should have thought that earlier.

So they are going by that Michael had a history of drug abuse, now I can understand Katherine's comments on Piers Morgan.
I bet some of the family members are kicking their own arses for going to interviews telling that Michael was drug addict.
"Repeated interventions" Oh dear, thats going to hurt KJ case badly, should have been quiet until the trial is over.

You can't say out of one side of your mouth he had a problem for years we tried to help him when it suited you but then later try to blame AEG for it when it suited you.
