Michael Jackson’s Family Demands Estate’s Executors Resignation / Estate Responds

Yeah that was the problem. There were three witnesses who all signed yet none of them pointed out the fact that they were on the opposite side of the country to where they were supposed to be. They signed right underneath where it says Los Angeles. But they weren't in LA. Was this ever brought up in court when the family challenged the will? I just wonder what the official explanation is from the Estate and from the legal side.

From TMZ

"The lawyer for the estate, Howard Weitzman, tells TMZ the witnesses to the will were face-to-face with Jackson when he signed the document. Weitzman would not say if the will was signed in L.A., even though the document refers to Los Angeles."

From CNN

"The intimation -- the will may actually have been signed outside of L.A. even though it says Los Angeles. Howard Weitzman, an attorney for administrators of the Jackson estate John Branca and John McClain, said in a statement, “Despite any claims to the contrary, we are confident Michael Jackson’s will is valid, that he signed it and that it reflects his wishes. All three witnesses listed on the will recall being present when Michael signed it.”

From TMZ

"Randy thinks the signature on Michael's will is a forgery. But Howard Weitzman, the lawyer for the estate, tells TMZ the signature is valid and the witnesses saw Jackson put pen to paper.

We've now confirmed Jackson definitely signed the will in New York City on 7-7-02. So the reference to Los Angeles is clearly a mistake.

Our sources say the person who wrote "Los Angeles" is one of the witnesses to the will and simply forgot where he was."

God forbid, i hate to ask this but if Mrs. K Jackson became unable to take care of the childrends.

It probably still won't be any of our business if that happens.

Edit: sorry I know you are genuinely concerned and my reply doesn't sound nice. I just think they'll figure it out. Too many cooks in the kitchen always when it comes to famous people's lives. We all have to live according to our own principles and as a much as we may want to impart our opinions and advice on another person's life, we can't do things for them. Especially as outsiders (fans).

Unusual for a jet lagger like Mike?

You're quick on seeing a conspiracy here and there. This is not like a normal person just writing his will. The law has regulations when a formal error occurs to ensure authenticity and thus validity. And the law allows to refute this as well. The Jacksons are not walking the talk as usual.

Not seeing a conspiracy at all. Just seems like an odd thing to say. And the person who forgot they were in New York was one of the witnesses, not Michael, so Michael being a jet lagger is irrelevant to where the witness though he was.

But yeah I know. I'm just a stupid conspiracy idiot so forgive me for caring.

Guys, this story made it to TMZ now...

PARIS JACKSON
My Uncle Randy's a
BIG, FAT LIAR

Michael Jackson's only daughter is going to war with one of her famous uncles ... claiming Randy Jackson is spreading dangerous lies about the family ... and she's calling him out in public.

It's all over a letter that supposedly "leaked" to the Internet this week ... in which Randy, along with Jermaine, Janet, Tito and Rebbie demand John Branca and John McClain resign from their positions as the executors of the Michael Jackson Estate, effective immediately.

In the sharply-pointed letter, the family claims Branca and McClain have "failed" in their duties ... taken advantage of the family ... and have stressed out Katherine Jackson so much, that she recently suffered a "mini-stroke."

Randy went to Twitter and verified the authenticity of the letter Tuesday night ... but the very next day, Paris called BS on her uncle.

In fact, the 14-year-old went to her own Twitter page ... and wrote, "i am going to clarify right now that what has been said about my grandmother is a rumor and nothing has happened , she is completely fine."

She added, "i'd like to know who made up the rumor… i will defend my beloved family member with all i have , even if it means from other family members.”

Minutes later, Paris sent a new message directed to Randy -- which said, "@randyjackson8 hello dear FAMILY member i don't appreciate you telling everyone things that aren't true thank you very much."

When one of her followers suggested Paris should have respect for Randy ... she replied, "Maybe he should have respect for his mother."

Paris has since deleted the tweets.

I have never called you a "stupid conspiracy idiot". ;)

I have not said that Michael didn't know it. His entourage travels with him, so it's a very likely scenario and nothing unusual.

I don't even know what to say. This is a joke, the family are making themselves out to be absolute idiots. I honestly don't see what they think this will do for them, except cause a lot of drama. Then again I suppose this is what they want so they can sell their stories. It's a sad day when a 14 year old girl has to put Randy Jackson in check. I'm extremely disappointed that Janet would show support to this, she for one is not desperate for money with a successful career and a huge fortune, I assume she is just siding with Randy. This whole thing is a mess, Michael would be spinning in his grave!

New TMZ's headlines are saying that Paris calls her uncle a big fat liar.

Great, just great.

Here we see the dangers of Twitter.

Oh lol, now I have noticed someone had already made a transcript. xD
Haha, should have read all prior pages.

Maybe because Michael lived in California that they put that down even if it was signed in New York. You think about where the person lives and all that. I don't find it suspicious at all and the courts said the will was valid 3 years ago.

I have to say and I don't care if people think I am hating but it is ridiculous that a millionaire like Janet signed this. She probably knows that the last alternative to get money will be from her. I guess it's always been okay that Michael always paid for everything. We all know he did. All he had to do was give his mother the money and she would take care of the rest. This whole thing is about MONEY. The world knows they are ticked off the were left out of the will no matter how many times they say that it is okay. It is not okay to them. The whole world knows that the estate has made $475 MILLION since Michael died.

They chose to sue AEG not the estate. They probably never thought that they would be asked personal questions about THEIR business and THEIR lives. It is okay if it's Michae'ls business. They don't want people to know what their lives have really been like. They will never make the kind of money the estate will and they know it. I try to give these people the benefit of the doubt or a chance because they were Michael's family and he did love them. But I don't have to love or like them or even respect them. Their actions are just pathetic at this point.

As for the kids, Paris makes me smile. Sorry but good for her. These kids have lived with Katherine for 3 years and they have to some clue how this family behaves. I don't think Randy's kids like him much. They lived with Michael all their lives and they loved and respected him. They have to wonder why uncle Randy and others were hardly around. They are not greedy kids and they are smart. By the time they reach the age and they have a say and access to the estate it will be strong and they will be grateful it was taken good care of. They know their daddy wanted them and his mother taken care of and that is exactly what the estate has been doing.

P.S. Maybe if Michael didn't take care of the family all of his life that he would have left them something in his will. I think he thought it was enough.

and now RadarOnline also picked up Paris tweets....

Paris Jackson Lashes Out Family Members Regarding False Rumor About Grandmother

Jackson's daughter, Paris, has just put the Jackson family on notice that she will "defend my beloved family member with all I have, even if it means from other family members," RadarOnline.com is reporting.

As previously reported, several media outlets obtained a letter allegedly from Janet, Rebie, Tito, Randy, and Jermaine demanding that the Jackson Estate executors John Branca and John McClain resign immediately because they believe that the late singer's will was a fake. This comes after three failed legal challenges in the matter already. The letter also alleged that Katherine Jackson was in bad health and had recently suffered a mini-stroke.

Paris Jackson just posted on her Twitter, "I am going to clarify right now that what has been said about my grandmother is a rumor and nothing has happened, she is completely fine. I will defend my beloved family member with all I have, even if it means from other family members."

Katherine's attorney, Perry Sanders, denied to CNN's Alan Duke that his client was in poor health. "Mrs. Jackson is extremely lucid and does a great job caring for Michael's children," Sanders said.

"Any doubts about the validity of Michael's will and his selection of executors were thoroughly and completely debunked two years ago when a challenge was rejected by the Los Angeles Superior Court, the California Court of Appeals, and finally, the California Supreme Court," famed attorney Howard Weitzman, who's representing Branca and McClain, told RadarOnline.com in a statement. "Under the supervision of Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff, Co-Executors John Branca and John McClain have diligently carried out their fiduciary duties as well as their obligation to Michael to make sure that his Estate benefits the only family members he named in his will - his mother and his three children."

Since Jackson's 2009 death -- a time he was nearly $500 million in debt. -- the executors have earned a whopping, $475 million dollars, nearly getting the number out of the red. In doing so, Branca and McClain negotiated a lucrative deal with Pepsi to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the late singer's Bad album, as well as striking a pact with Cirque de Soleil for a Jackson-themed tour.

None of Jackson's siblings were named in his will, as the sole beneficiaries are his three children and mother Katherine. Jackson personally chose his executors, Branca, a long-time trusted entertainment lawyer, and McClain, a family friend.

The Judge ruled the Will legit three years ago. Part of his deciding factor was that there was a previous Will that was almost the same, except it was made prior to the birth of Blanket, so he was not included. As far as Michael not liking John Branca, come on, why would he re-hire him after all those years. Branca had already sold him his portion of the Catalog that he had recieved as part of his commision on the initial sale, If that wasn't a good faith gesture I don't know what was. I have no doubt that if Randy and Jermaine had become executors of the estate they would have liquidated all of the assets and spent the next 20 years dodging the debt holders and fighting in court. Michael's children would have nothing when they came of age.

Hi Ivy.

Can the family legally challenge the will at this point.

If yes, on what grounds?

define family

Joe, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Rebbie, Latoya, Janet, Marlon and Randy can NOT challenge the will as they aren't beneficiaries. Joe tried it and it was thrown out. If anyone else from the family tries it it will be thrown out as well.

Katherine and MJ's kids could have challenged the will but the deadline has long passed.

Katherine and MJ's kids can make claims of wrongdoing by Executors.

Surely any of Michael's kids would need emancipation to legally claim wrong doing against the estate, so really at this point only Katherine has the ability to claim wrong doing? I'm exceptionally happy the comment about her in the letter is false and it doesn't bear her signature.

So the letter is not worth the paper it is written on.

yeah at this time the only one that's able is Katherine. MJ's kids can make the argument when they turn 18 as well.

So the letter is not worth the paper it is written on.

Unless Katherine signs the dotted line and takes it to a court.

Paris is fearless. But this should be handled in-house. Usual suspects and the media loving this. Mrs Jackson, now is the time to reel her in.

Not the path MJ would have taken.

She made a mistake, she is only a teenager. It's her uncles and aunts that should know better. The situation she's in is fairly unique, there's no exclusive right and wrong way to handle this type of mess but I agree Michael would surely have preferred this type of garbage out of the public domain.

Always defend Paris. Not mad at her at all. Really admire her fighting spirit.

Looking at the big picture, and for the media this is manna from heaven.

I Finally See Why Michael Kept them Out Of His Affairs and his Childrens Life..... I Believe that the Jackson Family As A whole are 2 windows short of a House

Her ADULT relatives are the ones who took this mess public. Michael's child has every right to respond since her low class relatives want the world on their side and not on the side of the men MJ appointed to look after his estate.

I'm confused. The letter lists MJ's children then mentions his mother as Katherine Jenkins. Who is Katherine Jenkins? Also I would think a legit letter would show Michael's name as Michael Joseph Jackson and not Michael Joe Jackson.

Michaels name is Michael Joe Jackson, that is the name that is on his drivers license and his 2005 court documents.

i guess Joseph is just a "stage name" of some sort.
