[Spoiler Alert] Spike Lee Bad 25 Documentary UK Premiere & Fan Reviews

It was telling to see the part in the Q&A when Branca said there were "10 or 11" songs on HIStory. Nothing against Branca, but this is why I'd like a true MJ expert and musicologist with a real passion for MJ's art to be on the team. Surely it can only help.

I love JGF. I don't think it's any weaker than The Girl Is Mine or State of Shock. Of those other two duets I think JGF is much better track. I always found it underrated.

I actually like State of Shock better, then JGF and TGIM

Would they please show his face???

Yeah, Bad era Michael was sooo beautiful, it would be a shame not to see his face. Oh well, his body looks good on those pics...

But I think a picture of Michael in the Bad outfit would be more representative of the Bad era as a whole, like the one on the album. The first one looks like something for a live DVD, and I just can't see the second one being used for a cover, it looks too "behind the scenes".

I can't help it...everytime I think of Sheryl Crow, I think of this song;

Sheryl Crow - All I Wanna Do - Rare Original Video (1994)...And to tie this in with Michael, this song was produced by Bill Bottrell!!!

Sheryl Crow - All I Wanna Do - Rare Original Video

From the top of my head, I have absolutely no idea how many songs are on the HIStory album. I'd have to list the songs & count in my head... And truth be told, I do not care to know...I mostly listen from my iPhone , so never have the CD cover in front of me.

I have a bigger confession...I don't how any songs are on OTW, Dangerous...well actually, let me tell you the ones I actually know..so it saves us the time. I know Thriller has 9 & Bad has 11. Yep...that's right,I only know these 2. That is ALL. Seriously ....

Do fans actually get an award for this type of trivia? You lost me. So...what does knowing how many songs are on a album prove?

lol, don't worry, you're not alone in this. I have no idea how many songs each album has. Nor do I know if MJ used a black mike on Wembley 16th or if it was a silver one, or how his hair looked at any concert ;) . It's not of any importance to me to know such trivia.

That's a LOT of footprints all over that reflector sheet....has he been dancing all over it?.....or trying out lots of different poses?......there must be more!

*sigh* It's like people can't take anything that even looks like it might be bordering on criticism when it comes to the estate. What does it prove? Well it goes towards showing that you are an expert on Michael's music. Not that you have to be to be a fan! But that's not what I'm talking about. I can name the amount of songs on all of his adult solo releases but in no way do I consider myself an expert.

All I'm suggesting is they hire someone with a deep knowledge and love of Michael's music (from the Steeltown recordings right up to the end) to join the team. Allow that person access to the vaults, session logs etc... and in turn they're knowledge would become even deeper. Having someone with a true passion and knowledge of MJ's music to help steer releases could only be a good thing.

Elvis' record company has had an Elvis expert in charge of Elvis releases since the early 90's. He does work with the estate but he is employed by the record company. The releases and progress that has been made since he took over has been nothing short of astounding. From finding and releasing things thought lost forever or that was not even known to exist to spearheading a collectors label purely for Elvis releases aimed at hardcore fans. Countless amazing high quality releases.

How it could ever be thought of as a bad thing to have someone like this helping out with Mj releases, I do not understand.

Great pics the first one would be the best cover

You know what, I think they should use a picture of Michael in the recording studio for the cover. The documentary is after all about the making of the album. And if they’re gonna make similar documentaries for all of his albums, they could add a smaller picture of the Bad album in the corner or insert it in the recording studio picture in any other way. It would make a nice series…

1) Highlighted segment wasn't the point. I don't agree with everything the estate has done either. So no need to jump the gun and think I am defending Branca. Reading your post got me thinking how lame it'd be to have my "fandom" questioned or judged on the basis of those trivial bits.

2) How do you know they don't have an MJ expert/historian already? Unless you have access to their payroll, I am not sure how you came to the conclusion there isn't one on board.

1) Yes, fair enough. I wasn't questioning fandom though. I'm talking about something completely different.2) I suppose it's possible, but there has been no hint of that yet. If so, they couldn't be too involved if we haven't heard of them or if they haven't been credited as an executive producer on the releases so far. This is more along the lines of what I'm talking about. Someone very involved, or even spearheading and choosing projects like Ernst Jorgensen does for Elvis releases for Sony. Leaving the everyday running of the business to Branca who can step back as a consultant on future releases.

But I suspect there are many employees we don't know about. we only hear about the execs, Karen Langford, Howard Weitzman Zia xxxx..

I guess you could always submit the idea to the estate via @mjonlineteam
