Next week (Nov 19) America's one of the most favorite TV shows Dancing with the Stars will be dedicated to Michael Jackson and his Bad album. Stars and the professional dancers will be dancing to songs from the Bad album.

Will update as more information becomes available.

Note: I placed this thread on News and Happenings to increase it's visibility.

Although I have never seen that show, it is good to hear about Michael's legacy moving along.

Yay! I may actually watch this. I haven't watched the show at all this season.

Awesome! Can't wait to see this! I am watchin this season but, on Hulu because something else I watch is on at the same time. But, I still vote every week for my fave!

Great:clapping:

I don't know if the estate has their hands on this but it is great that they have MJ BAD week and then it is nearly time to air Spike Lee's document, excellent timing:clap:

We dont get US dwts here but its great they are doing mj

This season of DWTS sucks, but they always do awesome MJ tributes, so i'm looking forward to this.

Since Paris shows up at DWTS tapings time to time, don't be surprised if she's shows up at this.

I can´t see it but I hope Bad 25 will sell good after this.

How exciting! I've been watching this show on the internet. Funnily enough while I was reading this thread the Way You Make Me Feel was playing! Looking forward to seeing this later this week.

Yes, that would be a pleasant surprise. :girl_curtsey:

O! That's fun to hear!! :)
Don't think they'll do a Michael tribute here on DWTS!!
I also hope to see some footage of it on YT!! Thanks!! :D

Talking about Dancing with the Stars........:D

Louis van Amstel looks better than he ever did. Can you believe he's 41 in June?

Here's a picture of him taken in 1990 (found it on the web, could be one year later though). He's even more handsome now, hahaha.

I've had the pleasure of seeing him dance with his former dancepartner Julie Fryer many, many times within a few metres away from me. My and my boyfriend (now husband) also danced during those same years (approx. 1989-1993) and always went to the same competitions as he did (not the same level though!! We danced one level below that (called Latin II). They always had the nr. 1 position in their category in The Netherlands.

Below here's a pic of me (couple on the right) and some of our dancing friends who danced in the same category (but were not in the same league as them. Julie and Louis always were the best in their categorie and when it was their turn, all eyes were on them) as Julie Fryer and Louis van Amstel, called Latin 1, during that time. And of course we always watched our friends on the floor, so also got the chance to watch Louis van Amstel and Julie Fryer up close.

Many years later I watched the Dutch 'Dancing with the Stars' and surprise, surprise: There he was, as one of the professional dancingpartners..our former dancingfriend (in the middle of the pics).

We're talking about 22 years ago. Louis van Amstel was about 18 here and I was about 23.

Just wanted to share this little info. Every time I hear the name Louis van Amstel or hear something about 'Dancing with the Stars' USA, I think of those days.

Hope no one minds...

I'm soo gonna be watching. though I' am sad that the star most enthused to do the MJ tribute week got voted off even though I voted for him. Still gonna be amazing though

I know. Even though I didn't want Gilles to win, I couldn't help but feel bad for him after his remarks about wanting to pay tribute to MJ next week. You could see the deep admiration he had for him.

Yeah, poor Gilles. He wasn't my favorite dancing star but I feel badly that he spoke so highly about MJ and doing this BAD 25 tribute dance and he won't be able to participate.

^ Oh for real? I missed that bit.

OT: Hi Suzy, glad to see you. I thought about you during hurricane Sandy.
Howz things in the Big Apple?

Hopefully they have different songs for a change and not the usual ones MJ. I'm not complaining but it would be nice if they select not so usual songs this time.
Don't be messing would be great for Cha cha cha (foxtrot?),
Abortion papers would be great too but I think it might offend some people,
Price of Fame would be great tango number:wild:

Each of the remaining five couples will dance to a classic song from the album. The show will also feature three special dance performances, each sampling a song from the 13-track bonus disc from “BAD25.” To continue the celebration ABC will air “Michael Jackson: BAD25,” a documentary directed by Spike Lee, offering Michael Jackson fans across the country a rare look at the man who changed the music world forever (November 22 at 9:30 p.m., ET). Also on Monday night, each couple will dance a dance style they have not yet danced to a theme which was chosen for them by another couple on last week’s Results Show.
