Re: Paris Jackson Possible Suicide Attempt Rushed to Hospital SHE IS OK
Yes, she should give up custody or have it taken away, which IMO should have been done by Beckloff back when KJ played Uno instead of taking care of PPB, but he did nothing except put TJ in there, which was another way really to bolster KJ and keep her in place. She gets all these labels--like 'matriarch'--that are laudatory, but she is a disgrace as a mother and a guardian. It's the elephant in the room.
I read a lot about dyfunctional families and abusive parents. A lot of this comes from learning bad parenting from their own parents--it is passed down through generations. MJ was very aware of bad parenting being a core societal problem that needed addressing on a global scale and he was constantly talking about children's issues to try and change the way children are raised. As he pointed out in speeches and in "The Lost Children" --why is there no "Children's Day"?? We have Mother's Day and Father's Day but why such resistance to having an International Children's Day? B/c children are still considered the possessions or property of parents/adults.
Abusive parents are often highly narcissistic--they have limited ability to empathize, to understand another's pain--to bring it back to KJ--she loves being regarded as a saint, as the matriarch. She will never IMO see how she contributed to MJ's pain or Paris's and I doubt she would voluntarily give up guardianship of any of the kids b/c she loves the power and $ and prestige. But I still hope she will--maybe she can be talked/pressured into it. It's better if she can be convinced to step down--probably by appealing to her narcissism.
I think you make an excellent point re/Katherine's style of parenting--I totally agree. I think she looks at Michael's kids as she did her own and "manages" them that way. It's all she knows. But, I also have to say, it doesn't excuse her from what I think is negligence in dealing with Paris' life-threatening health issue. That's where she is way off the rails or in denial or something. But, something is missing there and if she can't provide that nurturing, then I hope she can own up to that and do what's best for Paris and give up custody.
