I Am A Loser leaks [ Page 6] New info Page 12

You can't compare Smooth Criminal with this horrible song. That's like comparing apples to oranges.

It's an early work in progress edit, which will disappoint everyone here.

The beat is a raped version of 'Stanger in Moscow' and 'Beautiful Girl'.

He sings very laid back (early early early demo stuff

The vocal recording is dry as hell, you can obviously hear everything being copy pasted. No reverbs or delays (effects) were used.

There are two musical chords used (very simple and annoying)

His background vocals only say 'I am A Loser' a thousand times together with the two chords.

The production is very thin, because it was not mixed to be ready for release.

He sings full out at the end of the track (only thing I love about this song, gritty MJ :lol: )

It is a track below MJ standards. Not even the worst artist from this moment would release a song like this.

NOTE: This is my personal opinion about this song. Don't attack me for this. And yes, even MJ has a handful of annoying songs, like 'You Are My Life' and 'Don't Walk Away'.

Want to know more? You can ask me through this thread. No PM.

Hmm. Would you have preferred Justin Bieber sharing the chorus with Michael?

I don't care how complete the vocals are, as long as they aren't compressed or over produced I'm happy! I'm never going to complain what authentic releases we're blessed with as Michael is no longer here to record anything else, so I will take anything as long as its real.

as long as its real.

Yeah, this is crucial in my opinion..... :p And I do agree, Michael is no longer here to give his blessing, so it's up to others to produce, I'll just wait and see. Like I've said before, if music gets released and I think it's crap, I'll come on here screaming about it.

Really nice to hear a new song....even if its just a demo.
Any difference in sound quality on the YT links?
Noticed that there is a slight distortion on MJ voice on some parts of the song....mostly on the "S" letter.

Yeah, youtube videos are compressed, so there probably is a slight loss in quality, depending what quality you're watching it on of course.

I dont think that compression is the main reason for the slighty distortion on vocal on YT but that it was actually leaked this way.

Oh, ok. I misunderstood what you were saying, I thought that you thought the youtube videos sounded worse, I didn't read your post right, my bad. Yeah, it wasn't leaked in very high quality at all.

This thread runs fiercely! :eek: WOW! :woohoo:

What do you think the chances are this song or I was The Loser (most likely) was planned for the new album and that's why Michael P. & Bradley wanted it taken down?

Well most leaks for most artists happen around album time.. they start moving around and get in the wrong hands.. while when they are just sitting ina vault they don't get leaked.. So there is a good chance that this is at least a track they consider.

The leaked file is one of many compromised files from early 2011, it's got nothing to do with current happenings.

Can you please explain "compromised files"? Do you mean stolen from Sony servers? Or..

Let's not forget that MJ wanted Bad to be a double (or triple) album as well, and Quincy confirmed this on the special edition release in one of the interviews, where Q said you can't have 30 or more songs on a single album...which is why stuff like Cheater and Streetwalker got axed from the original album.

So subtract the original Bad tracks, there's at least about 20 or so tracks from the Bad sessions alone.

There should be PLENTY left.

Yes, Michael had 62 songs written for Bad, and wanted to release 33 of them as a triple album.
I feel like Bad, Dangerous, and Invincible have the most outtakes.

...........................

And like i have said before, i really love this demo. I feel like if they added some instrumentation (elements already in the song) things like strings, and harp, it would bring this song to the next level, which is something (if this song is in fact on the upcoming album) i hope that they do.

I would rather prefer that they include the final version 'I Was The Loser' Michael didn't want people to
think that he thought he was a loser.. even though he never was I just honk it'll be more aproppriate. and also, it includes vocals recorded in 2008.. giving it more of a centimental feel to it. 6. I Was The Loser. it looks perfect to me, not saying it should be that track, but it looks like it belong's on a future CD release. Let's not forget, they can re record instrumental with a choir! just like they did for the new release of "Barcelona" featuring Freddie Mercury. So
much potential for this song. But of course, it needs to be done right.

I don't think this song should be polished up and "finished". I feel that Michael would have changed so much between what we hear here and a final master version (including his vocal and lyrics), that it just wouldn't be right or fair to Michael to slap some different instrumentation behind it and call it "finished". Just enjoy it for what it is.

I didn't say change any of the organisation of instruments. Listen to the originally released version of 'Barcelona' and then compare it to the finished orchestral version. The organisation is the same, it's just a more authentic sound.

I agree with this, i don't feel they should take the song and recreate the instrumentation. But make elements that are already there more lush and prominent. Like the Harp. With this being a demo ( i don't know the full background of the track so forgive me if im wrong) i would guess the harps, and strings that you hear are probably plug ins (computer or key board generated) as they probably wouldn't have recorded an actual harp and strings for a demo. So if they were to rerecord those elements and make them more prominent, i think it would be beautiful.

Michael can make anything beautiful, because his voice is beautiful. :heart:
Nice story behind the song. Good to hear about it.
Sometimes, with all my own experience with hearing Michael's demos leak over the years, I sometimes think certain people say a 'fan leaked' the [song] to just give way to getting an opinion from the MJ fan base at large..before it truly does go into the real effect of public opinion, kind of like a 'buzz word' ..Ahhh, many explanations here, also, I've noticed over the years fans do get ahold of these tracks and revise them, and perhaps it gives visions & ideals to whom is going to shine up & polish the songs since Michael isn't here to fully create the finished versions, for official release.... But, then again, that's just a drifting, pondering thought. excuse my rambles. :lol:
L.O.V.E. is what the World needs. :wub:

Compromised means unlawfully taken away from its creators/right holders.

Original 1987 Version.

2012 Orchestral Full Version Including Intro and Unseen Rushes, Plus new transfer from original tapes. Voila.

Exactly. For BAD 25 the estate considered about twenty to twenty-five songs alone. (Not quite sure where the remaining forty or so went.) I'm not concerned at all.

If you mean unleaked songs, my research has brought forward this:
* Off the Wall (1976-1980) has 16.
* Thriller (1981-1984) has 15.
* Bad (1985-1988) has 11.
* Dangerous (1989-1993) has 16.
* HIStory (1994-1997) has 2. (Possibly one, if Elizabeth I Love You wasn't recorded in full.)
* Invincible (1998-2003) has 28.
* This Is It (2004-2009) has 10.
* Additionally, there are 62 songs with no confirmed date of recording.

Of course, these are just titles I've found and researched. Some may exist in a releasable state, some may not. And let's not forget that there are dozens of songs that no one knows about yet.

I would also like to find out what kind of unreleased material is sitting from the 70's > There has to be some music with Michaels adult voice recorded and not released.. those could be updated and released also!! This is a man that was in the music biz for several decades.. He's recorded much more than what was released.

Incomplete songs is just a hurdle, not and end to release!

I don't think anything from The 70's should be on future new unreleased albums! when they're all unearthed firstly it should be on OTW40! and then the rest for a decade album in my opinion! the Song's that will suite new albums I think are the one's recorded from 1994 (at the earliest) - 2009!
