There really is no reason to pin Janet vs. beyonce.. the truth is they are both talented and some of there talent quality is similar and some are different.. Beyoncé is surely a product of the work Janet has done and Beyoncé definitely holds her own..
Beyoncé does not need to bow down to anyone because she has earned her spot in music history on a level that most don't - especially in this day and age.. Beyoncé has talents that are superior to Janet and the same goes the other way... It is a different world from when Janet was at her prime.
From all points of view with Janets acting career and her relationship it does seem she has put music entertainment secondary, even her last tour was (in my opinion) half @$$.. Beyoncé is currently workin' it in the music realm..
They are both great and I will always favor Janet because I grew up with her and her music and dance style is more my flavor but Beyoncé knows how to do her thing.. And her latest album is actually pretty Janet-esk!

Jay Z was involved with the law suit that Randy Jackson pulled Michael into. It involved some company loaning Michael money and the Beatles Catalog, back in 2007. The money was coming from Jay Z's company, with his partner, and the partner's brother was named in the lawsuit, a Damion Dash.
Don't even get me started with Notorious Big and what happened to him, nor Tupac Shakur. Move those two out of the way and Jay Z goes to the top of the class!

I have nothing against Beyoncé, I like her as a person, not necessarily her work but hard work and/or success doesn't equate talent and the same goes for Janet. If she really was talented on her own right, she wouldn't had used the "sex sells" card and her record label and the media wouldn't had the need to inflate her and using it against Michael to make him seem less successful than his sister which we know it was the opposite.
