I actually like it... wondered where they would've taken this song cuz I really liked the leaked version... I love the part where he sings with out that much music accompaniment... Starting @3:05... As i said previously, the beat sounds a lot like LMA... but I still like it... :)

In Chicago first verse second line there is autotune.... Elsewhere it is probably used minutely. It works fine. Just saying.

Loving this version so far! I'm beginning my 3rd listen as I type.... I love how strong/clear/out front MJ's vocals are and that beat is infectious.

I have to say I already loved the demo version very much that I didn't think it needs to be retouched at all. I was half expecting them to release the way it is with probably few changes.. but I have been PROVEN WRONG!

This new version is freakin AWESOME!! I LOVE IT!! :D :D

I admit, I can see why folks wouldn't like this. It's aimed for clubs.

But for me, Michael's vocals are front and center, more so than in the leaked version. Also, this is one less opportunity for certain people (*cough cough* Roger Friedman *cough cough*) to say, "Hey! This sounds like a blatant rip off of A Horse With No Name!"

Absolutely outstanding, though I'm expecting a huge drop in quality with Slave to the Rhythm.

I needed to hear it a second time to really appreciate it..

I like how they kept the hard crash snare on the chorus..

I like how they dropped the drums in some dramatic parts to emphasize Mike's vocals..

Also about the vocals, I love how clear they are on this song (and entire album so far, for that matter).. Leaps better than low quality leaked audio files..

And last but not least, I LOVE THE TWYMMF/LMA type groove throughout the song.. It sounds as though that's a definitely a MJ type of rhythm.. After all, he was an incredible rift writer and knew a good groove when he heard one (or felt it)..

I appreciate the obvious effort and dedication it must have taken to make a new song out of an already great song and make it stand on its own.. In the Billboard article it says they took the longest to send back their version for inclusion on the album. And ultimately it seems although they were trying to keep the same easy rhythm/grooving feel as Mike's original..

I am sorry guys but I totally hate this version....Stargate totally missed it....The original version could Easily blend in there specially afte the lovely "Loving You"....The idea of the track was to borrow the section from A horse with no name, guess what?? They ruined that....

They even muted Dr freeze backgrounds vocals !!! the back vocals added more harmonization to the original version !!!

this new version does remind me with Leave me Alone specially that intro...

I'm not saying its better than the demo.... but its pretty damn good. Very modern sounding!

This is true. At least Dr. Freeze will be there in full glory on the original version.

I personally really like the new rolling beat, though.

MJ's voice is so much clearer, and I like the way they slowed down the verses a bit. It has beats reminiscent to TWYMMF but still has its own flavor to it, as well as the beats that remind us of LMA.

I'm glad they put the real demo of STTR on the deluxe edition. An earlier press statement made me worry but everything is OK now.

It makes me laugh that people are calling this a rip off of The Way You Make Me Feel and Leave Me Alone. Yeah, the two songs do have a strong presence here, but at least the producers didn't utilize the very same guitar riff from its inspiration, the same melody line and just add a few new drum beats. That's how a complete rip off would sound.

Oh wait... that's what the demo does ;)

Hmm, interesting.....this has got to be the very first track that seems to not have that out of the gate 'like' by you guys.

is there anybody who totally loved this version of APWNN??? :D I mean I was totally expecting some new sounds in this album from what I have read from the reviews! Chicago gave us that (albeit the "ducks" were a bit funny :D ) but THIS! THIS is totally modern and * cool *! And the current generation kids will love it, hopefully! Anybody else with me? :D

Edit :- I love the demo too. I really didn't want them to change it much, but I am surprised now.. this is really good! They made it all cheery and uplifting. Two versions for two different moods, and both are great! What more can I ask for? :D

I never listened to any of the leaks or anything else. I've never even heard the original "Horse With No Name"- so this is literally the first I am hearing of this song. I do not like it. I'm not trashing it by any means, it just has a sound that doesn't sit right with me. Yes, it sounds very "clubby" and that's just a style of music that, I, personally, am not into. Does that make it a bad song? Not at all. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who totally love it. I'm just not one of those people. Oh well. That's 1 song of 8. Plus there's still the original/demo to look forward to :)

Maybe once all the songs are played together it will sound better :)

Im in but for different reasons : new identity, smart production, you can feel the 2 had a lot of fun and gave their all in doin' it (respect), it has that little something that i always had on MJ albums (evolution, suprise, and newdirection) and a lot of other things i don't have in mind but i feel and i'm sure my neighbors will call the cops it's 5:43 here and it's louuuuuuuuuuud

Edit : all the feeling stuff can be summed in french by MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERDE

As I said a few posts back, this is the first time we can see how different an MJ version is compared to the 2014 versions.. Completely different..

Took me a couple listens to let it sink in (as it should since I've been listening to the on leaked version since, well, it leaked) but I really do like Stargate's version.

Besides MJ songs always sounded different than anyone else's, in terms of substance and the rhythms he used. This fits nicely.

:wtf2 was that music!? I didn't like the original resembles a lot to A Horse With No Name's music but I actually prefer it over the new instrumentation which quite odd.

Wait a min....Whose backgoround vocals are those in the end ?? Those aren't dr freeze !!!! I mean i am comparing them now and that backvocals in the new version are def different !! they kinda pitched down and shorter that " nanananaaaaa" is waays shorter and pitched down that freeze's original backvocals...Could they did their own backvocals ?? or they just altered dr freeze back-vocals ??

haha yeah, in a matter of 24 hours.

Come Friday, I'll be updating my fb status to 'Thank god it's Friday' and give it a whole new meaning, cause Do you know where you children are is going to CRAZYYYYYY.
