I Want You Back
The Jackson Five no.1 debut single. It stayed no.1 on the Soul charts for 4 weeks and it spent one week in the no.1 slot at the billboard hot 100. I Want You Back" was ranked 121st on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.[1]

The 2nd number-one hit song by The Jackson 5. It was written with the same design as "I Want You Back", and was first heard on American Bandstand (on the ABC network) in February 1970. "ABC" knocked The Beatles' song "Let It Be" out of the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1970 and was also number one on the soul singles chart for four weeks. Billboard ranked the record as the No. 15 song of 1970

Which one is your favorite? I Have always had a soft spot for ABC. ABC ftw!
 
I prefer ABC. But I agree that The Love You Save is the best of the these very similar sounding songs.

But these are not my favourite Jackson 5 songs.
 
To be honest, I was never a huge fan of The Jackson 5. I've always preferred The Jacksons and Michael's solo work (Including his Motown solo albums)

I prefer the Jacksons and MJ too, but I like many J5 songs as well. Just not the most popular ones. IMO the best J5 album is Get It Together.

Oh, and if you guys don't have Get and Get It: The Rare Pearls - a great album with formerly unreleased tracks.

I think I Want You Back is better and of course ABC was heavily based on it too. I also prefer The Love You Save most out of the 3 though. One tiny detail I do like a lot about ABC is how MJ sings "Reading and writing, arithmetic" at the start of the second verse. One of many early demonstrations of his great timing.

We need that Destiny Tour performance of Get It Together in high quality. Great funky performance.

That is true. Never thought about it. I wish he had performed ABC as a part of the Jackson 5 medley on his solo tours.

Didn't Michael call 'The love you save' the "Mother Lode" when they turned out the subsequent songs?? Lol.

I'm so glad you posted these today. I needed to see those big brown eyes and infectious grin and just his sheer happiness and joy on this awful day. It made me smile.
