what a great week for Michael Jackson on the charts. Has been dead for almost 10 years, zero promotion, and Thriller is the #1 selling vinyl in the US this week! Such a nice Christmas present. Overall at #76 thats a great position for Thriller, The Essential at #137 is decent too. I feel like MJ always has one of the hot 200 albums in the US every week whether its Thriller or The Essential.

Thriller seems to have sold quite well during the Christmas season. Thriller is a popular and a great Christmas present to give to family and friends.
 
The vinyl is probably going to sell good numbers forever. It's seemingly a staple in everyone's collection and one of the early records every new collector buys.

In fact, the majority of its copies sold in 2018 were in vinyl format.
121,000 copies sold overall through 27 December 2018, the same number as 2017.
Quite remarkable, considering pure sales in general have dropped a further 20% in 2018.
Thriller is holding up well.

MJ must have sold at least 400,000 albums of his catalogue in the USA in 2018, pure sales.

If we include streaming, then his numbers must be over 1 million.

It should get there by mid 2019. The 8X certification was in mid 2016 and 7X certification was in mid 2013. It seems that Number Ones sell/stream approximately around 100,000 units per year, which is very impressive.

Thanks for the updates. I was doing updates recently but after the whole documentary fiasco, I didn't feel like updating for the past two weeks. I will get back to updating soon hopefully.

Nice to see MJ's videos still so popular and getting million of views each week, despite the recent disgusting attack on his character.

Here are list of further milestones that he will achieve on youtube in the next 2-3 weeks.

1) Billie Jean getting to 600M views. Currently at 592M views.
2) Remember The Time getting to 300M views. Currently at 295M views.
3) DSTYGE & Earth Song both getting to 200M views. Both are currently at 199M views.
4) Man In The Mirror getting to 100M views. Currently at 99M views.
 
^ I love to see these numbers, even in controversy MJ is still charting around the world. March will be interesting with the media bombshell thats going to go off....
