Controversial MJ Documentary Leaving Neverland [GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD]

Holy cow.

The Estate managed to finally do what I have requested for weeks and sent out Jonathan Steinsapir one of the lawyers handling the Robson & Safechuck lawsuits to counter Dan Reed. Jonathan did a much better job than any of the Jackson family, as expected. With the limited time he got, he did fine! I would definitely want him going on more shows, he should have been active during the build up as well, I have no idea why the Estate did not engage earlier and more. Lets hope this was not his only appearance.

If you do not want to listen to Reed, you can skip to 17.00, for Jonathans part. To be able to skip forward in the player you have to double click on the link.

But what the heck are Jonathan suppose to do in 10 minutes? When Reed had 4 hours movie + endless of interviews in newspapers, radio and TV. Its impossible to respond in that short time frame. Also for Taj he has been on a few shows for like 5-6 minutes, he barely is allowed to speak before its over, its useless. Why are they not doing any magazines or newspapers? I dont get it, you have to be able to get your message across in length in for it to have any effect.

So they have destroyed mj for good. The reactions are scary.

Well, you know that was exactly what I predicted earlier today in my messages, which people thought were doom and gloom and that "I was trying too hard". Obviously these members did not realize the danger of the scenario I presented - which is the narrative these 3 bastards are running with!

In part 2 they got to present to the audience why they have lied during all the years etc. And then the Oprah factor on top of that with expert.

I am not at all suprised the result is damning, it was pretty given. Its very sad. I am beyond disgusted. Totally fed up with this shit!

Honestly, it's too early to tell.

Critics and certain celebrities are the biggest cheerleaders; the general public, including a surprising number of non-fans, seem pretty mixed to positive in favor of Jackson. There's plenty of comments about the bad acting, the inconsistent stories, the poor editing, the absence of any corroborating voice, the refusal to offer the Jackson estate or family an opportunity to speak, etc.

Give it two weeks. That'll show how strong the backlash is.

That interview with the estate lawyer was very well done. He's a very direct speaker who's also fairly convincing. They need to get this lawyer on every talk show in the coming weeks. Get this information out there how Wade lied in court multiple times.

Part 2 was no more convincing than Part 1. Where is the evidence? So much talk and talk and stupidity from the mothers. Wade's brother had no emotion whatsoever. It was just... like... what is this crap?

The problem is, what makes you think The Estate have a such intention? Why was not Jonathan around last week and during the weekend? I dont understand this. Reed have been doing magazine interviews that take 20 minutes to read. If the Estate had used the same platforms, BEFORE the broadcast of this filth, more of the viewers would have watched the show with Wades contradictions and lying fresh in their mind.

Now The Estate is going to have to try to appeal to people who have been brainwashed with 5 hours of propaganda from Reed & Oprah and have swallowed it all! Not a good plan by the estate. I get if they cant go on Oprah, since they would not give 60 minutes to the estate. But all these magazines and newspapers, I am sure they could the word out that way to some extent.

Howard Weitzman was on CBS today, a 30 second clip I believe, did anyone see a longer clip than that? A 30 second clip? Whats the point of that really?

Michael Jackson fans are the ones who love, support, defend, and buy Michael Jackson music and videos; and we will continue to do so.
When it is all said and done that is all that matters!!!!

Give it couple of weeks and see if people still care, my guess is that they won't.
This is nowhere near as bad as it could've been, seems like a lot of the public are skeptical. This is as bad as it's gonna get, just remember that.

Now, I’m totally outraged. I just heard that three million people have tuned in to that crap! Great, now what?! The devil is a lie!

Where is Taj? The brothers and sisters? His kids? I expected a lot more support especially over the days of this airing (now).

Ellen Degeneres is now on board with this crap, tweeting that shes watching the Oprah special right now and that "everyone" should watch Leaving Neverland.

That has to be hurtful for Michael's children, especially Paris who loves Ellen.

Why did they do this all the y achieved was hurting Michael's family especially his children. He's not here to face a trial.

Only 3 million? That's not some massive blockbuster. Solid numbers but consider MJ's funeral had 30 million+ viewers, same with Madison Square Gardens concert in 2001. Oprah's interview with him in 93 had 62 million viewers in the US/Canada alone! So 3 million is nothing great especially in a region with 330+ million people.

I hope so. This whole thing has been such a stinker I can almost smell it. Phew.

If only 3 million people watched then that is a big old flop.
For something that hyped to get that few viewers is pathetic. I hope it was worth it HBO lol.

The MAGIC OF MICHAEL JACKSON CONTINUES....!!!!

I'm not going to disrupt this thread, but I have something I need to get off my chest and I can only discuss it with fellow MJ fans. I'll put it in the Trials and Tribulations section.

I guess you’re right. What got me was Ellen DeGeneres, out of all people! She believes this crap?! It’s official, the government and Hollywood are corrupted!!

I'm so disappointed in Ellen. I loved her because she was actually goodhearted, but I can't believe she's fallen for this too.

If I had a Twitted account, I would go and send links to ALL of the facts, but I’m already caught up in a bit of drama on the YouTube HBO trailer page with somebody. I need to watch my blood pressure

This film takes things that were totally ordinary and innocent in the context of Jackson's life and twists them into something inordinary and perverse. Case in point, here's one of the "love" faxes presented in Leaving Neverland:

This is supposed to be evidence of Jackson's "grooming methods," something he was only doing to little boys.

Now check out this cassette tape from the early 90s:

Anyone remember this? Back in 1993, the co-founder of Sony suffered a massive stroke. Jackson, being the kind, decent human being that he was, sent Mr. Morita an audio tape with words of encouragement to get better (LINK). At one point on the tape Jackson even says, "I love you, Mr. Morita, and know that the whole world loves you and needs you, especially me." Am I now suppose to believe Jackson was also grooming a 70-year-old businessman? Of course not, because this was the type of stuff Michael was doing for everyone. It was totally common in his life, yet once again, this shock doc reframes it as something Jackson only did with boys. It's factually nonsense.

Stuff like this needs to be in the rebuttal videos. It's the same situation with the nickname "Little One." Jackson referred to Quincy Jones as "Smelly," his longtime bodyguard as "House," and his family friend Eddie Cascio as "Angel." He basically had a nickname for every other person in his inner circle. Wade wasn't a special case.

It’s like I knew something prevented me from going to chase the fame. God was sending me signals this whole time. Entertainment is all it is, entertainment. Like the government, too much corruption going on behind the scenes as well. Both conservative and liberal. Some people’s characters are full of nonsense.

I want to cuss, but I can’t

Exactly, thank you. People don't know these things about MJ. There's nothing odd about that note, and since it says "tell little one", it's obviously sent to his parent or older sibling, probably his mother, so do they think he groomed the child through his mother? Do they think he would send incriminating notes to his mother? makes no sense. And the message is obviously about dancing and how to be a great dancer, like Wade wanted, which wade talked about recently on his blog also in terms of "Michael's prophecy", about his career. he's trying to encourage him and give him positivity for his dancing. These people making this note into something else are sick.

I ask it before...

Did someone know if MJ called Emanuel Lewis also Little one or someone else?
Lewis Birthday is near to the day where the message seames to be recorded on march 9 and the nickname whould fit him very well.

The real world is not The social media.

Who cares anyway about some dumb individuals who get easily brainwashed and don't have any critical thinking about current affairs in general.

I am not surprised, our society has been dumbed down for decades now.
