Was there a planned album after 'Invincible'?

Some songs were definitely vocally recorded in 2008.
Bits of 'The Loser', 'Hollywood Tonight' and the whole of 'Best Of Joy' were recorded in October 2008 at the Bel Air Hotel.
In 2008 is also when Michael started working with Neff-U. I believe that he might have recorded at least scratch vocals for songs like: 'H20', 'D.I.E', 'Lady Of Summer' or 'Silent Spring'.

1. The Bahrain recordings
2. The RedONE recordings
3. The Will.i.am recordings
4. Buxer/Prince recordings
5. The Classical music album

The songs I am speaking to are from the 4th category, material he worked on with Brad Buxer, Michael Prince, etc. These were songs that Michael had the most creative control over and mainly wrote himself. I have heard 7 of these songs. For being demos and not finished, these were truly awesome stuff. The sounds were out of this world and brand new. We have NEVER heard MJ like this before. If only Michael lived one more year.... we would have been in for such a treat.

I cannot comment on the RedONE stuff, as I've never heard it. I am told not much exists that is finished. The Will.i.am stuff I have also never heard. I was told that there is one song however that is nearly done and could be released with some touch ups. Other than that I don't know much.

According to RedOne himself, nothing exists from his recording sessions with Michael Jackson that is finished.

But RedOne also revealed at the same time that he has enough material to work on for a Michael Jackson’s forthcoming album.

Apparently, this means that many of the songs (from those sessions) that they worked on together are complete enough for a future release.

RedOne described these songs as very good, energetic and uplifting, and with the exception of the last song that has only Bruno Mars’ vocals on it (because Michael Jackson was unavailable at the time to record his vocals on that last song), all the other songs have Michael Jackson’s vocals on them.

Also, as RedOne explained, the only problem for the release of these songs is not the stage of their completion (as many of them are nearly complete), but the necessary legal agreement concerning the songs’ release between him, the record label and the Estate.

They both recorded a lot of nearly complete, unfinished material and during those sessions they became so close to each other to the point where Michael Jackson was going to visit RedOne and his family in Morocco when he had some free time during his ‘This Is It’ shows.

Redone has said many things. Pretty sure he has also said that most of the stuff they recorded is barely complete and will need guest vocalists. He changes what he says all the time.

The fact that things are progressing! Now. I am bumping this thread. Btw Travis is the *real deal*
Also look out for my post from Casey Rain whose link I shared to a very interesting article he wrote.
 
Hopefully Travis will come back and enlighten us a bit more about real *gems* are left as he definitely was the real person in the know!

Yes Duran Duran your correct massive Mj fan too and he has heard unreleased songs. As I said I have put a link to his article.
 
I seem to be the only person who's supremely uninterested in "Hot Fun in the Summertime," largely because it's (from what I'm aware) only 1/3 Michael. I like D'Angelo and Mary J. Blige, but it feels less like a Michael Jackson song and a Michael Jackson feature. I'd love to see it used on one of THEIR albums.
 
I believe there is material post-Invincible sessions which hasn't yet seen the light of day. It wouldn't surprise me if the estate didn't even know about it.
 
Hope we get to hear more 2000s stuff some day.. the Will.i.am stuff in particular

I think you're right about this mate, I bet the Estate doesn't know about a few songs from each era. I think of I'm So Blue and Song Groove for Bad 25, they were unknown to everybody by the sounds of it
