New MJ content (Possibility)

Re: New MJ content?

I remember being so disappointed by this.. truly awful

yeah me too
i honestly dont blame them for the whole Michael album thing i get that they wanted to make money and it was rushed out ,on the other hand xscape wasnt rushed and it shows

Re: New MJ content?

Xscape sounds nothing like a Michael Jackson album. Not even close.

Michael, on the other hand, does. Which is funny because of the circumstances around that album.

Yes, very close with Michael - just erase the 3 fake songs - then Michael feels and sounds like a true MJ album IMO.

Even without the Cascio tracks, the Michael album has still its flaws. Tracks that were entirely or nearly finished were recreated from scratch - in some cases even altered to the producers own taste.

Hollywood Tonight is an extreme example of how a song was twisted by 180 degrees. The erasure of the "she's only fifteen" line as well as the newly penned bridge gave the song a completely opponent meaning.

The only ones who cared and tried to stay close to Michaels artistic vision were Akon & Neff-U.

Re: New MJ content?

even though, MICHAEL had songs produced from scratch the songs had an MJ feel and sounds which MJ could have used. There is only one song on the new Xscape mixes which is something MJ would probably have done and thats "Love Never Felt So Good".

Re: New MJ content?

wasnt the justin beiber slave to the rhythm version done when mj was still alive?
if it was than thats a genre i NEVER had expected mj to touch .
the point is - artists evolve and mj doing an rnb-trap production like the bangers of xscape is not at all far fetched its just missing his own touches on the production but he deadddd

btw even if the jb thing wasnt done when mj was alive than he still worked with RedOne whos productions are almost edm-pop and nothing like anything mj had ever touched before

Re: New MJ content?

Has the "MJ Estate" given up on MJ's legacy?

What's going on with these people?

Don't say the Neverland case, don't say corona

Mind blowing how incompetent they are treating Michael's legacy. They are doing literally nothing to engage in newer generations

Corona has definitely impacted things. MJs music is reaching new generations by itself.

The thing is, it should not be only that way. It's not a proper way to handle an estate, the legacy to the biggest artist ever known to mankind. I don't even follow other deceased celebrities yet I know of how much better their estates handle things

Corona is not an excuse, meetings, producing, and what not can be done either way, and it's not like we saw anything special pre-corona as well; so it's just an excuse you are buying in to.

I think my negativity on the matter is 100% justified, observing the situation closely since 2009 every month, every year.

I keep coming back, checking out news, but just end up disappointed every single time.

A small example: How long do we really have to wait for them to put out MJ Ultimate Collection on Spotify here in Europe (At least in many European countries as far as I know)? You're saying MJ's music is reaching new generations. New generations do not buy CDs. They listen to it with platforms such as Spotify. Not only new generations, I have completely stopped using CDs, MP3 files, etc.

It's just laughable how they can't even get that fixed. Does not matter to me how they do it, or why they have not done it; Fix it.

I have grown to despite them over all these years, and I am not the only one. A lot of fans are in my category, but they have disappeared from the MJ world. I'll continue to say and keep that 1% hope to come in and read some interesting news on new content.

Re: New MJ content?

Like I've said before LN cannot be an excuse for not releasing new projects. We're past that now. However I do give them credit for handling the court cases/law side, it's going well so far.

Re: New MJ content?

Each opinion is completely warranted. The Estate need to improve things, I think we can all agree on that much. Coronavirus can't be underestimated though, I understand its put a major halt on what they have been wanting to release and better products at that - HIStory 25 & TII 10th were both effected by Covid/LN.. I am sure if we didn't have this suffering going on in our world that we would have seen a little more than we clearly haven't recently. We honestly don't know how much effort they are planning for Michael's 50th anniversary, I just hope they give us a beautiful surprise.. It would make at least the majority of fans feel like the wait has been at all worth it in some way, we will see.

We know for a fact LN halted plans. It obviously would. I don’t know how anyone could deny that.

Scooter Braun was looking to recreate This is It but scrapped it due to LN. Who knows what the Estate had planned.

Corona has impacted business worldwide, so it would obviously impact MJ Estate too.

They have bigger fish to fry than releasing a concert on DVD for a few fans to buy. They need to protect his legacy first and foremost. By fighting the accusers and HBO they are doing just that.

I don’t defend them often but it’s unfair to think LN and the virus should be disregarded.

“We know that the Estate was blindsided by a slanderous documentary that ruined the 10 year anniversary of MJ’s passing, are currently neck deep in three different multimillion dollar legal cases (Robson, Safechuck, and HBO), and were further put off by a worldwide pandemic that impacted the entire music industry for the better part of a year, but we still think that they should’ve given us a Bad tour concert.”

- Some people, apparently

Also, with respect, The Ultimate Collection not being on streaming is at the very bottom of the list of things to worry about. All of Michael’s other projects are readily available; missing a dozen or so unreleased tracks isn’t the end of the world. I bought them on iTunes and synced them to my phone. Any new fan who likes Michael enough will either do the same or listen to the songs on YouTube. I’d like to see TUC on streaming as well, but I’m not gonna slam the Estate for it, because it’s truly a nonissue.

Where did anyone mention the BAD Tour? I didn't see that myself, if you're referring to my post.. It was partially supportive of The Estate's lack of releases due to the ongoing situations.

Re: New MJ content?

The people who do legal stuff and the people who work on music at the estate are not the same people, they are not operating out of a small shack in Texas. Using covid as an excuse for them not doing anything means you need to believe they had some grand plans, which I do not.

OMFG THANK YOU.... someone said it. The estate is not just lawyers.... it's like they just dgaf about mj. They didn't even care when he was here. All the stuff they did behind his back. They've made enough money to sit on for a while & when they're pockets start to loosen up they'll release something stupid again. They see us asking for bad tours & jacksons tours. The clips of new music.... thriller 3d that never came available to the public. I luckily saw that in theaters but 1x.... man come on! The estate is lazy, they were around mj & we as fans know his music & voice(apparently) & him as a person & mj would probably roll over in his grave if he saw the otw released with Chalk.... smh we got a fake album, a fan album (imo) with original songs yet still edited by those producers. We never got d25 & i still don't think we'll get a history 25. What on earth could really stop them from releasing this project? MJ ISN'T HERE TO PROMOTE IT so I really don't see an issue especially with mj still on a rise to a new generation. 1 thing for sure... not 1 child on earth will probably never see or care about leaving Neverland. For 1... it's long af, 2, there's no mj music luckily. I don't think nobody cares about that documentary anymore once ppl found out facts about thier documentary. People knew they were lying. Who comes out & says that about a man 10.....10 years deceased..... THE PLANET HAS TO HAVE GONE MAD to not put 2&2 together. Im getting a headache from this thread just thinking about the estate. When he let John go he should've stayed GONE!

It just seems like all Estate led conversations (at least ones I always find myself butting into lmfao) boil down to this:

- “The Estate sucks and doesn’t care about Michael’s legacy whatsoever!”
- What did they do?
- “They didn’t give us another Bad tour concert, Dangerous 25, or HIStory 25!”
- Okay... how is that demonstrating any disrespect towards MJ’s legacy?
- “If they REALLY cared about him, they would do things to remind people of how great his music was!”
- You mean like with one of the highest-grossing tours of all time (Immortal), a Vegas residency show, a forthcoming Broadway musical, and an active (albeit flawed) social media presence that far outweighs any other deceased celebrity? Michael is the only “legacy artist” currently in the Spotify Top 100, so clearly his legacy is preserved.
- “Posthumous projects are a big part in reminding people why an artist is so great.”
- Then why don’t Michael and XSCAPE consistently re-enter the charts like Thriller and Number Ones do? New fans are drawn in by the original art; everything else is secondary. Ask any general Prince or Tupac fan to name as many songs from them as possible; I’ll bet $100 they don’t name a single one that’s been released posthumously.
- “But what about the Cascio tracks? Or the Wembley DVD? Or the OTW reissue?”
- Yeah, the Estate has done a LOT of dumb, indefensible shit.
- “So, you agree that they don’t care about MJ?”
- No. I feel that they’re incompetent and misguided at worst, just shy of hitting the mark at best, with more than a few questionable decisions. However, “I didn’t get what I wanted” isn’t a valid reason to say they don’t care about MJ, and as far as I’ve seen, that makes up more of the complaint pool than reasonable.

Obviously this doesn’t apply to EVERYONE and shouldn’t be seen as a blanket statement. But when you’re discussing the Estate and your main focus point is that they didn’t give you what you wanted, that reeks of entitlement to me.

We were never promised a Dangerous 25 or a HIStory 25. It’s warranted to be upset that they decided not to go along with one... but to get angry about it? Why? I just don’t get it.

I don't think Dangerous 25 was ever considered? I know HIStory 25 was definitely planned, with the random re posting of the HIStory Teaser to their YouTube channel as well as the endless supply of merch which I believe is still being released? I don't have any interest in the Tour, but it would have been great to get other audio/visual elements from this era. Personally I think TII 10 would have been absolutely perfect if they finally utilised the Unseen rehearsals as well as the merchandise that looks absolutely gorgeous, gutted I missed out on the red long sleeve with the Dirty Diana image. Hopefully they will re visit TII down the line, it's a truly beautiful and magical process

They said they were planning it but covid ruined it. Saying nothing would have been better as I do not think they were planning it at all. Time lines do not add up and it came off as a bad excuse. I'm not really upset at those specific examples but just the estate and their conduct in general

It was a lot easier to just re package TII with the least possible addition of brand new material than it would have been to scour the archives/restore the HIStory era material in a suffering world. It was simple enough for Sony to do all the work on that one.

The critiques we do receive remind us that we can’t please everyone all the time. We too are Michael fans and we do our best to create projects which we would like to see and hear. The purpose of creating these projects is to enhance Michael’s legacy, to please and excite wherever possible the existing fans, and to introduce Michael to new generations of fans. And rest assured, sooner or later we will get to many of the projects that we know the fans want, including anniversary albums and documentaries for Dangerous and HIStory.

Dude I'd really like to know who you're talking about because you're constantly screaming about entitlement etc when I really don't see that. The estate have done more than enough to earn the scepticism and lack of respect they get from a lot of fans.

Re: New MJ content?

I am reminding you that branca said that they focusing on Dangerous 30th (2021). That was when fans were disappointed about that ridiculous online celebration of dangerous 25th.

I mean, in this thread, a user posted a paragraph-long rant, in which they expressed anger over the lack of Dangerous 25 and HIStory 25.

I’m not saying the Estate is infallible or that they haven’t screwed the pooch before; they clearly have. I’m just saying, from my perspective, an unfair amount of criticism seems to come from a place of, “I don’t like them because they don’t give me exactly what I want.” Users such as yourself are an exception, but I feel like the majority of Estate discourse around here is based around things fans want but didn’t get, which is weaponized as if that somehow can be used as evidence that the Estate sucks.

It’s like if you said, “McDonald’s sucks because they use below par beef and inject it with harmful chemicals,” and another user said, “McDonald’s sucks because I love steak and they just won’t put it on the menu.”

Re: New MJ content?

I applaud the estates efforts on the ongoing legal drama. However, when talking about their decisions on concerts/new music it deserves to be criticized. Majority of people here would agree. We have the right to call them out on bad choices and praise them when they make good ones. IMO its 2021. Releasing new music & concerts can all be done virtually/digitally now very easily. Covid wouldn't really be a factor for things like this. Since it has almost been a decade since Bad25 & XSCAPE I think its time for new content regardless if you love or hate the people in charge. ITS TIME FOR SOMETHING NEW

Im "a user" in this thread & i wasn't ranting about d25 or h25. I expressed the lack of the estate! Im starting to think you work for the estate. There's no way you keep coming up with excuses for them! Mj has soooooo much out & they give us str8 b.s! Smh I give up at this point. I just hope before I die....we'll get proper releases for the tours, music & unreleased footage

Agreed, their legal defence in regards to MJ has been great. That isn't what people are complaining about. It's also not connected in any way. The same people that are in court are not coming up with music projects.
