Totally agree!

The root of my “theory” lol is a hope that the estate has a long game in mind for re-affirming his legacy through a series of releases, music, documentary, and film, so that they feel like releasing more lesser known stuff (to the public) will be financially viable. That would include Invincible, of course.

Side note- with how negative the media is about Michael, I would be heartbroken if they ever released something that bombed commercially or in sales. You just know the media would have a field day with that and it saddens me to think about.

i just want to hear songs like get your weight off me and still the king... snippets sounds awesome for me. im a big fan of black eye peas' and william work. to hear michael's collab with him would be a dream for me

ohh yesss. i so much like songs like chicago, blue gangsta, xscape, place with no name and so on. thats a shame that michael didnt manage to put in them in invincible album....all of these songs deserved to be a single

No snippets of “Still the King” exist, unfortunately. All the “leaked ones” are fake. I honestly don’t think that song was ever recorded, assuming will.i.am’s description of it is to be believed. But I agree, the late 2000s work is what’s catching my eye.

HAHAHAHA WHAT??? It was leaked long time ago, when MJ was still alive. Lol. And William said that its almost done. But he doesn't want its release due to Michael's death...

The snippets shown at the Access Hollywood interview isn't known if it's Still The King, it could be any song.
 
I don't understand why thriller 25th is done so badly by fans who think the remixes are pretty good and the merchandise was cool

Lmao, relax. If you mean the Access Hollywood interview, like AChanceToDance said, that’s an unnamed beat Will was playing for MJ for the first time. If I’m not mistaken, he wound up using it for his own album a year or so later.

Also, Will has been inconsistent regarding the music he did with Michael for years. One day it’s incomplete, the next day it IS finished but won’t be released, the next day he tries getting one of the songs on his own album. I’m also pretty certain he never said “Still the King” was finished, just that some of the songs they did together were pretty far along.

In my opinion, it’s just an embarrassing excuse for an anniversary album. The biggest selling album of all time gets five remixes, one “new” song that wasn’t even recorded until eight years after Thriller came out, and a DVD of VHS-quality short films that we’ve already seen a million times over. It’s one of the main reasons I roll my eyes when I see fans say, “MJ would never do something as lazy as Thriller 40,” because he did multiple times.
 
I’m excited for every era really but probably the most for those mid 70s early 80s outtakes when MJ was testing the waters of his own skill as a songwriter, judging from the songs he composed for OTW, Triumph, Thriller and Destiny he was already at a very high level right from the start. He probably was very hungry to prove himself as a musician like how Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye were at one point, I am not surpised that his most acclaimed work came in his early years after leaving Motown because that was when he had everything to prove. So naturally my biggest interest goes to that time period, I’m very interested in other stuff he has worked on during that time.

Well, MJ didn't even want to do that. Sony wanted that, but I think he had little involvement in the project or even cared about it.

No) You are no right. In interview was 100% real snippet. Thats for sure.
there is even a snippet with MJ vocals (scream)... Thats why it seems that song is really almost done)

That's a remake, the real snippet is this one

It was never confirmed if Still The King was complete or not, only that the intended guest singers never recorded their parts. The only song we know for certain that is 100% complete is I'm Dreamin', which Will tried to release on his own album.
 
If that’s a real snippet then I have to say that’s a really cool beat. Really liking the sound of the drums with the cymbals or whatever it is called.

If it was almost released we can assume that it's complete. Just because a song hasn't been leaked doesn't mean that it's unfinished, most of what's in the vault is completely unheard.

There was a video on YouTube of MJ in the studio working on T25. I think he was in there with Will

It might’ve been used for the Michael album mini series that was on YT at the time
 

I never know what to make of instrumental snippets honestly.
I remember this was floating around when I first got on the forums and nobody believed it was real.
Cut to May 2012, when we finally heard Don't Be Messin' Round, the validity of the original snippet is now very credible

Is it true that there's a demo from Thriller? The snippet sounds a lot like the alternate vocal take that Korgnex posted.

I've always wondered which version is featured in this snippet. It's very obviously different from the one presented on B25.

iirc the initial mp3-leak had a 1990 year tag. Of course, that doesn't mean anything.
 
One song I haven't seen mentioned is Muscle written and produced by Michael and performed by Diana Ross.

Do you think we could hear a solo demo version of this song on Thriller 40?
