Thriller 40th Anniversary

My guess is we might have leaked songs on bonus disc with maybe 2 unleaked tracks similar to xscape and the silver slip cover might be shiny to resemble the silver glove, I'm thrilled😁😊
 
Like two people on here posted that they're not happy with the song and we have five people complaining about that. Lol.

I personally doubt they'll include Slapstick if Hot Street is gonna be on there. Would be cool to have both in HQ but also would be taking up a spot on there that another song could take.

Most comments here have been positive about the most recent announcement apart from like two. I don't really see what it is you're referring to unless you're reading stuff on twitter and then coming over here to complain?

Sorry but there is every reason. What I stated was true.
Now all I can say for me this upto now is like a total new experience and will be like hearing brand new songs of Michael's in top quality.
Looking so forward to it. Now I just want to know what else estate have planned. How they are going to promote this. Always difficult when the artist is not with us now.
 
Looking back now I'm more surprised they released 6 new songs on the Bad 25 album. I mean 3/4 of them were probably too good to be on there as well.

I'm just grateful looking back, hopefully we get 2 or 3 new songs on Thriller 40

Funnily enough, Thriller is the only album that has a good Hi-Res mastering on streaming, the highest quality one they offer (the one in 24 bit/192kHz) is straight up a PCM conversion of the SACD from 1999, so it sounds great.
However, i think that if you pick 24 bit/96kHz you get the 2008 master instead.

So you are talking about "streaming" right? Not Qobuz download?

(Because I may have it on Qobuz... (Thriller 25 (Super Deluxe Edition) Hi Res". In my memory the Hi Res the was 2008 master, but right now I have that frequent Qobuz bug that prevents me to access stuff and I'll have to go so I can only check later.)

Sometimes I'm thinking that it may be because this kind of stuff that some people think they hear a difference between 96 kHz and 192 kHz or even 44.1 kHz...

They are both the same! (Talking about qobuz download and streaming.)
And nah i'm not talking about hearing a difference between 96kHz or 192kHz or none of that nonsense, that is impossible.
Quite literally, the 24/192kHz download offered by Qobuz is a different master in comparison to their 24/96kHz download, which like you said, is the 2008 master.

Yeah, I was not target you or what you just wrote... rather stuff I heard from "random people".

I will try to check again what is on qobuz pricesely (later).

Here's a waveform comparison between the 24/96 and the 24/176 (max res they had, long story short for quite some time Qobuz mistakenly labeled this as 24/192 even though it wasn't, it seems they fixed it though)

Some years ago for a short while there was the 2001 master of Thriller available in 24/96 on 7digital & HDtracks. Same for 2001 master of Bad (24/48) btw.
 
The Toy will be the next song revealed to be on Thriller 40. Someone played around with the URL from the previous post to find this information.

This doesn't mean PYT is on disc 2. It's just a normal social media post. They do these all the time, because a certain song was released on that date.

3 versions? Well the James Ingram demo is out there on YT.
 
I think the “P.Y.T.” demo should’ve been part of the expanded digital edition. Make this the definitive Thriller album by including everything they’ve released from the era thus far, then keep disc 2 for the unreleased stuff.
