Hot topic What unreleased demos and remixes do you think will be on Thriller 40 Disc 2?

The Mercury sessions were in 1983, so they definitely weren’t considered for Thriller.
Although i do remember Freddie saying one of the tracks would probably appear on the Thriller album if he had finished it. Stating "I missed out".

When was this made? Because we've already known about some of those songs for a while now. And also it's highly unlikely that Spice Of Life exists so that tracklist might as well be fake.
Well, the track list could be the real deal if it has been leaked from one of the CD pressing factories all over the Western world. Very likely scenario!

Few people will mess with corporate property and strict agreements when they risk their job. So, the printed inlay or booklet of Thriller 40 will not surface. But the information can be spread easily...
Last year there was a person giving rumors about a single featuring The Weeknd and when they were asked for a source they gave that same excuse and nothing had happened then. Never trust those type of rumors.

And also IIRC that tracklist first came from Wikipedia and anyone can put any kind of info there. Another reason why it's fake.

That's the fun of it! No physical evidence. It could be true, it could be false, but it doesn't spoil anything. Everybody can keep on dreaming. But in some cases the entire product has been leaked, including the music files. This is a real criminal spoiler.

I don't see the fun in misleading people for clout but each to their own I guess. :cautious:

I think that was Freddie simply messing up the dates of when things were recorded. His personal assistant, in addition to Brian May, said the collaborations were from 1983.

Yet, Freddie Mercury made some interesting revelations, just some months after the release of the 'Thriller' album.

For example, he stated in 1983:

"I think one of the tracks [that we worked on] would have been on the 'Thriller' album if I finished it but I missed out" (Freddie Mercury)

Or, from another interview (around the same period):

"I was initially gonna be on [the] 'Thriller' [album]. Can you imagine that?" (Freddie Mercury)

So, it can be said that at least one of these songs was initially considered for the 'Thriller' album (hence it belongs to the 'Thriller' album era), despite the fact that they were recorded all of them in 1983.

I'm pretty sure their session occurred in 1982, as Queen were touring NA from July to September that year for their Hot Space album.

I’m just sharing what Peter Freestone shared. I’m inclined to believe him given that he almost certainly held detailed records. Anything’s possible!
I know that, I'm just giving my opinion. Sorry if I sounded harsh, not my intention.

Although Peter recalls it being 1983 while Freddie was recording his solo album for CBS, MJ spent quite some time with them in 1982, even going to their last NA tour dates in Inglewood, from which we have pics and that backstage video and it makes sense to me to consider it might have been 1982, but who knows.

I hope we get Niteline. How is it possible to include Hot Street, Got the hots, Circus girl, She's trouble and not Niteline?

Many tracklistings aren't accurate or true but I'll be surprised if the track listing from a few weeks ago becomes a reality, with starlight becoming the opening track which became real, CGOOTR track 15 and spice of life will be the 12th mystery track..but we'll see

Either hot street or nite line will miss out or more excitingly both will miss out.

I hope they are not left out for thriller 50 or whatever. I hope they have other plans for the two songs.

At this moment it looks like perhaps the Estate sees hit potential in at least 1 of the two songs.

They really missed the boat with the Dangerous and Bad Outtakes. These songs suck on Thriller ( hence why MJ did not want them on it )

Hot Street will probably get the Love Never Felt So Good treatment as the lead single from the next posthumous album.
Id like that :) But if they release the demos on a 2nd disk like on Xscape, will they release Hot Street (original as leaked) or Slapstick? Hopefully both :)

What they've announced so far is decent but it would be nice to get another song which hasn't been released/leaked yet (Hot Street or Niteline being announced would be a let down given they've been around for years).
