Why u say nonsens

Hot Street will probably get the Love Never Felt So Good treatment as the lead single from the next posthumous album.
we can safely say:
- the estate wants Thriller-MJ singles.
- they prefer having a duet for chart success (LNFSG, Hold My Hand)

so it's likely they are saving up some bangers from the 80s (Hot Street).
as for duets, The Weeknd is insanely popular on the charts and social media. they would probably ask him.

not keen on this Weeknd guy. weak/boring voice imo.

wouldn't be surprised if they take Hot Street and give it a 'blinding lights' sound with The Weeknd on it.

Not gonna lie: Hot Street with a synthwave sound could be epic!

I don't see any major comparisons between thriller25 and thriller40
Marketing wise "Thriller 40" is a big joke IMHO. After 40 years, the best-selling album in Pop history is "celebrated" with the physical release of one bonus disc of 10 songs. Think about that!
Let's compare this with the 2020 special release of "Prince - Sign O' The Times [Super Deluxe Edition]" : 8 discs in a cool box (92 tracks) !
I'm glad that I'm a fan of Michael Jackson ánd Prince. 😋

Well, how many thriller outtakes do exist? Definately not 92, probably not even 20.

I'd say this is sony's fault, they probably are testing the waters with this release to do some big posthumous release in the next 2 years.

I don't think you're being fair here.
I'm also pissed off in a way with this T40 bonus disc, but unlike Prince, MJ didn't happen to shelf three complete albums with different tracklists between Thriller and Bad. Folks at Paisley Park had plenty of material to build a boxset for SOTT.

It’s not the Estate’s fault that Michel doesn’t have many unreleased tracks. It is also not their fault that Michael was so disorganised in relation to keep all of his unreleased tracks in one place.

is it just me or can i imagine this huge 80s release in the next 2 years with Hot Street, TYLA, Niteline, maybe even the demo to someone put your hand out and maybe like 5 more songs, all contemporized with that modern 80s sound in the vein of the Weeknd and others, i think that could be HUGE.

There's no need to contemporize or reimagine his 80s left behind more or less finished songs, imo. Only some gentle polishing and mixing here and there where needed.

Michael Jackson - Eaten Alive
01 Hot Street
02 Buffalo Bill
03 Streetwalker
04 Eaten Alive
05 Nightline
07 Chicago 1945
08 Price Of Fame
09 Throwing Your Life Away
10 Alright Now

true, but to reach a "modern audience" i feel it would need to be somewhat contemporized.

If the 80s sound is still “contemporary” enough, 2 years from now. It saw its resurrection in early 2020, but it won’t last forever.

I agree, Prince is another league, but I expect at least 20 songs... piece of cake...

To be fair with you, I think even 20 is delusional. I'd be fine with like 5-8 songs, although I believe it would be really stupid to waste finished songs on a reissue.

Sign o' the Times Super Deluxe:

- has the original album (beautifully) remastered
- has the single edits / b-sides disc, remastered, in chronological order
- has 3hr 38min, 3CD worth of unreleased recordings (1 out of 45 tracks previously released)
- has 2hr soundboard live audio
- has the '87 New Year Eve live DVD (includes a brief collaboration with Miles Davis)
- box set with a large booklet

meanwhile Thriller 40:

- has the original album (not likely remastered well)
- has one bonus CD (3-4 out of 10 tracks previously released)
- digital-only bonus tracks, poorly ordered / incomplete, includes (shitty) Thriller 25 remixes
- no DVD/Blu-ray

You forgot "My Cherie Amour" by Jermaine Jackson on that bonus list.

I just hope they do a good job of remastering the original Thriller album
This is actually one of the most important questions! If it is a really good dynamic master of both the classic album and the bonus songs, that would be a strong selling point.
Thriller in the best audio quality available? Would be an insta buy for me.

You guys really make me curious about all that remastering business.
Would thriller sound that different in the highest possible quality?
It sounds great the way it is. I have no ear for these little details or I have never realized how different it can be
Is it possible to have the highest possible quality on a streaming service or do you need a professional sound studio in your home to create that sound lol

As you can see I know absolutely nothing about it.

If you're talking about either the first US vinyl pressing or the 1st Japanese CD, indeed.

First question: Yes, it would sound different, more balanced and less loud. Lots of elements from the original master have been lost by the insane
use of compression in reissues, especially the 2001 Special Edition and T25, they're both a nightmare.

Second question: It depends on the streaming service. Apple Music, Tidal and Deezer for instance have an option for streaming in lossless that would allow you to listen to it in proper quality.
