Billie Jean HD version hasn't been released yet. Also it'll likely be in 1080p not 4k, due to the film used.I’m a tad disappointed by the billie jean 4k

I just checked the original files Apple had a few months, weeks, whatever, ago, and i can say, this is indeed not the 1988 remaster... gawdamn i'm pretty surprised this isn't nearly as bad as T25 lol

Turns out, the mastering on Apple for Thriller 40 DID get replaced to a new one, however, the mastering that is now being used on Apple for Thriller 40 is just the 2014 CD remaster, with the only difference being that on Apple it's like, half a DB or so louder.
Of course, what this means is that this is most likely a placeholder mastering, just like the 1988 remaster that was used previously, and it will be replaced with the 2022 remaster once the album comes out.

True. So many little details that weren't visible in 480p are so obvious now. I hope someday Michael's post Thriller videos also get the 4K treatment.

Maybe it's the impact of LN. Warehouse & logistics worker might think MJ's a pedo and therefor don't care about his releases anymore. Just a thought, though.
