Can somebody recognize all songs from these lists...

I don't know, it's exactly what he did to a lot of songs throughout his career (TWYLM, Chicago 1945, Cheater, APWNN, Buffalo Bill and many others for example) so I totally buy it. Besides take a look at MJ's reaction when it came to certain songs leaking, when the Thriller outtakes leaked he didn't seem to mind but when it was a song that he had plans for (Escape and Hold My Hand) he'd be pretty upset. I do believe that he was going to use the songs at some point.
Those songs were mostly held back because they either didn’t flow with the rest of the album or weren’t yet to MJ’s standards yet though, not because they were “too good” for a particular project. That’s the thing that doesn’t make sense to me.

Yeah, MJ had a tendency to care when it’s a song he was actively working on. I have no doubts that he wanted the world to hear those songs; I just don’t buy that he said, “I don’t wanna waste the best material on this album! Let’s wait for the next one.”

I would love to hear these two songs in particular. I want to hear Michael's vocals from the last few years of his life.
Me too. I would love to hear Rocker and Boy No as well. Basically any song from the 2000's is what I'm dying to hear lol.

It's what Lenny Kravitz said about Another Day though, it was left out because MJ thought it didn't fit with the album. Honestly though MJ was making a lot of bad decisions in the early 2000's likely due to the influence of drugs and Invincible's tracklist could've been one of them, why else would he leave out songs like A Place With No Name, We've Had Enough, Fall Again in place of Cry, Privacy, The Lost Children and Speechless? Hell, even Brad Buxer dislikes the last 2 songs lmao.

“A Place with No Name” deserves to have been left off in my opinion. It’s the least affective Freeze collaboration by a country mile. “Blue Gangsta,” on the other hand? Absolutely criminal that that one didn’t make more traction.

The only four songs on Michael that were worked on between 2006-2009 are “Hold My Hand,” “Hollywood Tonight,” “The Way You Love Me,” and “Best of Joy.” Everything else consisted of outtakes that (as far as we know) MJ hadn’t thought about in years.

This is the exact same line MJ gave Rodney Jerkins about “Escape.” I don’t know if I buy it. I can’t imagine MJ would listen to those two songs, both of which are arguably better than 90% of Invincible, and would say, “They’re too good for this one, let’s wait for another.” That’s not at all how he worked.
WHAT? he was going to finish Xscape???? Damn! i didnt know about that. I thought that song ended up to be in Invincible Era.... Didnt know he was going to release it on This is It ablum

Exactly!!! Fall Again is a masterpiece! That song even got a COVER! That song is definately on the same level with Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal and etc... But Michael didnt finish this song... 😭

He wasn't, not after it leaked at least. Most of what was done with the song after the leak was a small rework for the Ultimate Collection and then it was put back in the vault.

it was intended to be on ultimate collection???

I always think when an unreleased MJ song has been released by someone else (before Mike's version has come out) that's the end of the chances of it going on a Michael Jackson album.

Lenny released his version of Another Day, called Storm, in 2004 (it's very different vibe its cool) and I think he released it knowing Mike wasn't going to use it on his album.

It could have gone on a greatest hits or something but I doubt Michael would want to release "a version" of a song and have it compared to someone else's

can you show 2004 version?

There is a thread from 2009 about this photos/list. Why not using the search function?

I have all these songs on my hard drive. I will leak 2 sec snippets with my old Nokia phone tomorrow, I promise!

I can't believe not even a single fan was able to get the original Another Day version (the one that leaked in 1.30 min in length or so, as well as few seconds of lq snippets with the tag "DJ THUCKY" all over it.

That version is way, way, way much better than what ended up on the Michael album.. I think I still have the original leak as well as the 2-3 shorter snippets that leaked. Great times. When Another Day original snippet leaked, it was like Michael's voice just came down from the heaven or universe to sing another song. Man.

Lenny butchered the SOUL out of the 2010 mix.

Because that is the original, 1999 demo 2010 mix only have a litte bit of différence in the beat more drums

Isn't that the song Michael performed at the Sammy David Jr anniversary?
Yes, it is.

Which is a GREAT performance by the way...
Fabulous song, fabulous performance. I don't know the full, accurate story of this song but it seems to have been written in an incredibly short time. Perhaps within 24 - 48 hours of the performance. Michael wouldn't have had much rehearsal time, to say the least.

Buz Kohan? Rings a bell.

I wish Michael had done such simple performances in front of the microphone more often.
Yeah. I would never wanna tell Michael how to run his career but, ngl, I do wish he had done more stuff like this. His voice is made for this type of song / performance.

Apologies, not entirely relevant (as in, not at all, lol). Can't find whatever it was I read or saw about the writing of You Were There but found this YT clip of Buz Kohan talking about ... stuff, I dunno.

But, just behind him, you can see a photo of him and Michael, looks like they are working on something.

It's unknown but it could either be the same song or another song using the same title.

I’d have to imagine that “You Were There” is either (a) a misprint, as there’s another song titled “You Are There” in existence; or (b) a totally separate track, as I can’t imagine MJ would randomly revive a one-off Sammy Davis Jr. tribute for his album.

The track from Forever, Michael, you mean?

He was bringing back some really random stuff at the time so I totally buy that he'd revive that track lol. He hadn't thought of songs like TYLA and BoJ for almost 20 years but he went and saw something new in them.

Truth be told, I’ve never listened to that album so I had no idea that track existed. Interesting!

The estate registered a song with the same title in 2010. It was one of around two dozen taken from a bunch of hard drives turned over by Brad Buxer and Michael Prince. It seems as though he was tinkering with another one.

Just remembered TYLA is on this list lol. Wonder what changes he made to it if any.

Also I wonder what the titles at the bottom that are cut off are

This is a very inaccurate description of the 1999 mix vs 2010. There are way more changes to it than just a little bit of drum beats. Try re-listening again really close to both of the versions.
