Should we reconsider what we think about the Estate?

Officially, they did nothing. Which, in my opinion, is the wise move. I understand fans feel that a retort was necessary, but not only would such a project be immediately dismissed because it was put together by the estate (which is precisely why I have little hope for Taj’s series), but it would also amplify LN further. The best response was to say nothing and allow the doc’s faults and inconsistencies to speak for themselves, which they did.

Unofficially, there were rumors that the Lies of Leaving Neverland mini-doc, which had unreleased courtroom footage of the Robsons and appeared online randomly, was put together by the estate. Branca apparently all but confirmed it to a fan at some sort of MJ event a year or so back.

I think the estate’s response to LN—taking HBO to court and utterly obliterating them left and right while simultaneously letting the public discover that the doc was full of shit—is the single best thing they’ve done in any respect.
I agree that the Estate’s RESPONSE to LN was the CORRECT way to respond. I don’t know why FANS want to lie and say the Estate did nothing or didn’t respond. They DID respond. I’m sick of the lies. They did NOT ignore the fakeumentary.

I understand there are only two executors, I'm just saying I'm hoping that claim is not true, I just could not imagine an executor of an estate like this saying such things, I honestly would like to know who as well, but at this point it's speculation...🤔
Again, I’ve NEVER heard this rumor. If a fan started this, I am disappointed that he/she would stoop to such tabloidish dissemination of such purported info.

Reconsider?

Why do we have to have a fixed opinion of "the estate"? I don't know any of the people. I don't care either way. It's just a term that doesn't really mean anything.

I'm a potential customer. All I can do is just the quality of each release as it comes out. As it turns out, Thriller 25 was hot garbage. Same with Bad 25. Same with lot of those compilations.

The "new albums" have been... average. So they've had more misses than hits at this point. But I don't hold it against them. Maybe their next release will be good. Maybe it won't. I'll let you know when it comes out. But I don't let some preconceived notion of "the estate" hype me up or put me off beforehand.

Same with Bad 25
Bad 25 was a great release and probably their best. Except for the remaster itself, which is really more an audiophile complaint.

Xscape has it's fans and has been successful. Thriller 40 made huge gains on the charts. And This Is It was an unbridled masterpiece pretty much, it's pretty crazy how well they came ahead with that.

Anyway, blame Branca.

Speaking of Taj when is he giving the money back people gave for the “Doc” lol

They literally sued the crap out of HBO. That's as good an estate can get. Were fans expecting 4K Unseen angles of MJ in court?

What do you mean? I haven’t been keeping up with his documentary so I’m totally clueless.
He ran a go fund me or something of the sort asking for $700k. Might be off on the amount. Wtf Taj? I like that he seems to genuinely care for MJ but geez. Put up or shut up and refund the money. It’s been years already.

Intresting. It is new for me that the Leaving Neverland minc-doco comes from the Estate. Weizman and Branca did also some interviews.

I found also this disussion -round. I think it is initiated from them

He was on the MJCast recently saying that the doc would be out in 2023 no idea how much you can trust that.

I just watched all of these. For anyone interested, only the the first one is about 15 minutes. The others are about a minute or so.

Really fascinating! I've never seen these before either. The first one has a panel of experts coming at this from all different angles. Very engaging discussion. Reminds me of some of what I teach!

Hopefully. It would be nice if he backed up what he was saying. Like I said seems like a good dude and I hope his word is true.

I recently wrote a pretty detailed overview of what he said on the MJCast and recent livestreams over on this thread: https://www.mjjcommunity.com/thread...-updates-and-discussion-merged.142392/page-20

I still have my doubts, of course, and fully understand why people are questioning this. If anything I just wish some of that money could have gone to other projects like Jim Chohan's Trial by Media, which looks to be amazing, but is low on funds and taking long solely for that reason.

Also, I'm not sure how much Taj had asked for, but I think he raised around $300,000. Though I'm not positive offhand

Yes if Taj doesn`t see it bringing to a end he can just reach to Cohan out and support him with money, knowledge and material.
