Never seen this posted before. Teddy speaks up about the “Michael” fiasco and around 5 minutes in he talks about teaming up with Michael Prince. Apparently there are 44 vocals of Michael floating around which can be used for the new project:

Let’s discuss!

 wait - i neeed to you know, ...gimme a minuet here
THANX FOR POSTIN ! :)

I'd love Teddy back on board with projects going forwards, he's a brilliant producer and he understands Michael's sound better than almost anyone. He can make demo's sound fresh, but still have that Michael sound.

I'd love to see Michael Prince guiding projects, choosing tracks and producers. I feel like it would be something Michael would approve of

Me too. Best producer i think. and also , great we see Prince name here too . there is no-one better than Michael's boy to guide the legacy!

That has been posted here already but I'm happy to discuss it again lol

I'm thinking that the album will follow the same principle as the Xscape album and use songs that were considered for the previous album so I strongly believe that songs like Chicago 1945 and Hot Fun In The Summertime will make it into this album.

I'll be more than glad if Teddy ends up being the main producer, say what you want about the Cascio tracks but his remixes made the songs sound a lot better than the demos so I believe that plenty of demos can also be improved upon. Throw in John McClain to produce some other tracks and it's gold.

I'm also thinking though, in 2018 the Estate was planning to release new singles and they had gotten a new producer who's popular these days. I wonder who it was and if they'll be called back for this new album.

Michael Prince also stated that he has 40 copyrighted songs "ready to go" when the right time will come. Both of them saying the same number is actually pretty interesting.
I wonder if those "40 songs" are songs that we never heard about before, because from what we've heard most of the songs that are registered under MP's name are largely incomplete.

He likely means those ones. He never said that he had 40 completed songs, just that he had them and when the estate is ready to take them they are there.

I’m hoping Teddy gets to redeem himself. I think he’s an excellent producer. I love his take on “Hollywood Tonight” and, authenticity aside, he did a great job updating the Cascio tracks. I think under better circumstances he and John McClain could put together something extraordinary.

A lot of them are instrumentals though and the Estate can't/won't release songs with no vocals. I'm thinking it's 40 songs across MJ's entire career and some new songs that we never heard of.

Teddy quoted "44 vocals" , why say that for instrumental tracks? I may be high on copium but is it possible MP holds unregistered scratch vocals? I mean you don't have to register the latest version of a song unless you're about to release it. A simple demo should cover the rights.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of what he did with HT but my complaints are more on the creative side (If that even makes sense, lol)

It's entirely possible that he does, but those songs were registered after MJ died so I don't see why he'd register earlier versions tbh.

The security guard Bill Whiters or something like that stated that Michael worked on a lot of new music during the last three years of his life. Worked a lot with Brad Buxer in the studio. So maybe these are the vocals Teddy is talking about.

Let’s hope that this will come into fruition. This interview was recorded in august 2022.

They were working on music but Brad Buxer himself said that there wasn't a whole lot recorded from that era because MJ didn't feel like it so I find it very much impossible that there's 40 releasable songs from the 2000's alone. It has to be songs that come from past eras which MJ also happened to be working on them before he died.

Michael himself stated that he never stopped creating music. And the people around him in his last year said the same thing. We fans don’t know much about these songs, but I’m sure there is enough material left.

Yeah, that’s completely fair. I think the actual production is genius, but the artistic choices taken with the lyrics and vocal filtering are definitely debatable. But even listening to his takes on “Breaking News,” “Monster,” and “Burn Tonight,” he can do a hell of a job if he wants to.

Bill Withers worked as Michael’s guard? 😂
